Today is our big day….selling our house in the morning and buying our new home in the afternoon! We’ll be without internet service for a few days, so you won’t be hearing from us until we get back on.
This has been the week from hell. The sale of our house almost fell through this last week, and wasn’t salvaged until yesterday morning. Then we had to scramble to finish packing and loading because we thought we weren’t going to be moving, so we had cancelled everything. The week was a nightmare, and we’ll fill you in on more of the details after we’re finally settling into our new home.
I won’t relax until the papers are signed, so please keep all of your fingers and paws crossed that this really goes through. My stress level has been through the roof this week, and I can’t wait to finally be able to relax.
On a good note, we got our dog pen up at the new house! The sellers very generously let us move some stuff up there until they got in from Florida this week. It’s not the size the crew is used to but it will do for now. We also couldn’t attach it to a door of the house like we were hoping but we’ll manage until we can get the yard fenced in.
The dogs and Samantha have been great through it all. They dealt with strangers in our yard almost every day this week (we had a septic system issue), and then yesterday with many strangers moving all of our stuff on to a truck. They had to be confined here and there, either outside or in rooms, and they hate being separated from us! Even Luke has been on pretty good behavior considering how fearful of strangers he is. I almost think this might have helped him. We got something special to help them all through these few days, and I really think it’s helped. We’ll be doing a review of the Calming Collars when things settle down. We have some other fun reviews coming up too, that tied in nicely with our move, and I’ll fill you in when we are back online next week!

See you soon!
Congratulations on your new house. It looks great.
Thank you so much, Edie! We are so excited to be here…it really is a dream come true!
I do not think there is anything more stressful than moving. Love the run. It should work great until you can do something more permanent.
Thinking of you, we understand how stressful moving can be and with everything else you have to deal with goodness gracious! We are crossing all four paws that it goes smoothly form here on and looking forward to hearing all about it. Love Dolly
Congratulations and best wishes!!
Good luck and see you when you get back. How exciting!
This is always such a stressful time but just remember that when you look back you don’t remember the stress at all! You laugh about the hassles, smile about how all the right decisions were made at all the right times, and get a warm heart reminiscing on how you did it all together as a family. Congrats on the big move being (almost) all over!
Thank you, Bethany! Through it all, I always said to my hubby that no matter what happened with it all, we still always had each other and that was what mattered! We are so happy and relieved to finally be settling into our new home though! You are right, all the stress and hassles will be soon forgotten.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well with the closing and your move. It can be so stressed with some buyers but hopefully things will settle down soon and you can relax. Hang in there! ????
Thank you, Elaine, it all went through but it was not easy, that’s for sure! I think we had the buyers from hell, with their realtor egging them on to think they could get it all….at our expense. Luckily we had the best realtors in the world and even though it cost us a little more, we got through it. Heck, the moving part was easier than the negotiations (though stressful as well). Now we can just take our time settling in and getting things as we want them, so it’s all good!
Yay for selling your house!! Have a wonderful weekend!!
Congrats on selling your house and I hope everything goes smoother from here on out! Good luck with your move!
We are purring that all goes well with both the sale and the purchase.
All went well and we’re settling into our new home! Thank you! We’ll be sharing details soon.
I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! I know everything will be fine and you will be settling into your new home soon. Your package arrived today and OMD! That has to be the biggest and best prize package EVER!!! Bentley has been trying to eat the cookies since I opened the bag to check everything. Thank you soooooooo much for everything. It is truly incredible. ♥ ♥
Ugh, my friend just went through a very similar situation where their sale almost feel through twice – and once was right at the end. Luckily it DID finally close, so hopefully yours does too! Looking forward to the Calming Collar review – always looking for things to help Rita with her anxieties. Luckily she doesn’t have a ton of issues, but when she does get anxious, it’s so distressing to not be able to help her calm down. Good luck!
Now that’s a yard!
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
Congratulations!!
Congratulations~good luck with your move.
Deep breath. Hold. Exhale. Repeat. I’m glad things got straightened out! Here’s to smooth “sailing” the rest of the way.
I’m so sorry for all the mess with the sale, but it truly is never over until the ink is dry. Most sales go off smoothly, but some seem to hit one snag after another. Be thankful your realtors on both sides and the buyers have been able to work through it all. Happy moving, and I know you will sleep so well that first night in the new house with all the trouble behind you and just a wonderful new home to settle into in front of you!
Hope the move goes smoothly – HAPPY NEW HOME!!
Hugs, Sam and Pam
Wishing luck with the move! Can’t wait to see the new house!
all paws and fingers are crossed and we will jump with joy with you when all paperwork is done :o) I’m sure the new house will be YOUR home soon and Luke&The Gang will love it too :o)
We’re in our new home and we’re all settling in…details coming soon! Thanks for keeping everything crossed for us…it helped!
