Recently, two grown adults were caught at work by one of their bosses pawing through a box like two kids at Christmas.
Yes, it was my hubby and me. What were we so excited about? Well, because our store is a retailer for West Paw Design toys, we had known for weeks that they were coming out with some new toys called Zogoflex Air. Many times I have written about how Cricket only likes a certain toy, and that is a ball by West Paw Design made of their Zogoflex material. Zogoflex is tough yet has a bit of give and stands up to our power chewers. The new air toys have a Zogoflex shell and an Air Technology core, making them even softer for catching, and with more give for chewing.
Oh no, these are not chew toys! Well, they aren’t supposed to be, but everything is a chew toy in our household. Where Cricket prefers to play fetch with her toys, Luke and Sheba like to steal them away and chomp, chomp, chomp on them. I really thought they’d like the new Air toys because they’d be more fun to chew on, with a bit more give, and they would hopefully stand up to that chewing just as well as the other Zogoflex toys.

We were not disappointed. Even though the Dash frisbee-like toy has not really been used like a frisbee yet (I have tried!), it is standing up to the tug of war quite well! It has an ergonomic shape that’s easy on a human’s hands, and a dog’s jaws. The Boz ball has quite a bit of bounce in it and both Luke and Sheba love to jump up to catch it as it goes. Honestly, we’ve had these for a couple of weeks now and I haven’t seen a dent in any of them.

The Boz comes in two sizes and three fun colors: Currant, Dandelion, and Peacock. We got one of each in the smaller, tennis ball size and the Peacock has already gone missing! The Dash
comes in the same colors and one size. What do I love most about these West Paw toys? They are non-toxic, made in the USA, they float and are dishwasher safe. They also come with a one time replacement or refund guarantee. Now there are a couple of Zogoflex toys that Luke and Sheba have been able to destroy – the Tizzi
and the Bumi
. Those two toys are narrower so I think that’s why. I didn’t try to get my money back, because I get the toys at wholesale prices anyway through my work.

These toys provide some great fun and fitness for the dogs, and that was the other reason I wanted them – to try and get Luke and Sheba moving more. Oh, and by the way, no, Cricket will not play with them. She still prefers her old West Paw Jive balls.

Those look like fun toys!
I get more excited about new toys than my dogs do!
Me too, and I especially get excited when I think I’ve found a new indestructible one. But other than these, I usually get proved wrong by the dogs very quickly…LOL.
Those look like some cool toys!
I am VERY excited about that frisbee looking thing. I LOVE frisbee and if my cuz Riggin gets in the way, we can always play tug of war. Thank you very much for telling us about it (MOM, come see this…) ~Cooper
Oh, we sure hope you get one, Cooper, we just know you’ll love it!
Love, Sheba and Luke
Those sure look like some fun toys!
Those new toys look awesome! I wish Mr. N were more into toys. He prefers chasing living things.
Awesome that they are dishwasher safe and not made in China. I suppose most toys are destructible on some level if a really strong chewer gets his or her jaws on them and really tries 😉
That’s a great tug-of-war shot. It shows just how sturdy that toy really is!

The flyer looks like a good fit for our dogs. We used to buy flyers all the time, but after getting a case of them from one brand (they were amaze-balls) we haven’t found any that work for our pack. I’ll have to look for this one the next time I’m at the store.
West Paw also makes one called a “Zisc”. We have a couple and they are also made of Zogoflex and even a little softer and more flexible than the Dash (there’s no hole in the middle). You might want to check that one out too.
I’m glad that they’re having so much fun with these new toys and that they’re passing the Luke & Sheba test! It takes a lot time to convince Barley to play with toys that aren’t stuffed, so we totally understand Cricket having a preference for one specific type of toy!
I’ve been really wanting to try the frisbee version ever since I heard about it–Nala recently discovered the joys of fetching and tugging frisbees, but the cheap starter frisbee we got her is already a wreck. Knowing that this will, indeed, hold up to some chewing, I think a couple are definitely in our future! Thanks for reviewing them!
You’re so welcome! We’ve had other types of frisbees too, and they never held up. I hope you get to try these, we think you’ll be very happy with them.
They look like a lot of fun. The blue one is definitely for toggle war lol
We LOVE Westpaw toys! Very durable!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Wow, these look PAWsome!
I love the choice of colors. One of these might show up under the Christmas tree!
I bought a west paw ball after Crickets recommendation. Sable loves it and so far chew proof. Thanks Cricket! The new toys look great, I like the frisbee thing. Will have to see if they are selling them in the UK yet.
We’re so glad you got the ball and that it was a hit! We hope the new toys show up over there for you too.
Love all the fun colors. Bailie would most likely enjoy playing with them, but Katie and I don’t really do anything with toys. Looks like Luke really loves them!
Those toys look like a lot of fun and very durable! My humans are always looking for durable toys for me since my favorite past time is defluffing my stuffed animals! 🙂
those look like a blast! Nothing better than a box of NEW toys!

They were having great fun with those cool toys.
Look like great toys – and nice colors too! Hope Peacock turns up.
It’s most likely in the house, under a piece of furniture somewhere!
They look like great fun!
the Dash looks like a great toy for Easy, it’s luke&Sheba proved, so it is probably strong enough for the silvermistygrey wrecking ball :o)
