We got a fun surprise in the mail on Monday! We won a Durable Blue Whale from our friend Oz the Terrier and his Mom Gina in their recent Kathy Ireland Loved Ones toy giveaway.
Luke could not have been more excited. He was all over me as I was opening the package, almost like he knew this package was for him and his sisters. How do dogs know that…or do they just now assume every package is theirs because most of them are? He was so disappointed when I told him the toy had to be put up until I had time to take some pictures.
A while later as I was working at my desk, he was lying next to me whining. I realized that he was staring at the top of the desk where I had put the toy! So I had to get it down and let him play with it. To say he loves it would be putting it mildly.
This toy has a cute heart shaped treat pocket (right by Luke’s nose) but we certainly didn’t need to add treats to get him to play with it. I had to take a little video of his enjoyment too:
(Please excuse the stained carpet. I had those stains (from our late elderly cat) removed, but the humidity wicks them back up to the carpet from the pad underneath – one of the reasons why I hate carpeting!)
Sheba finally got her chance with the whale the next morning, and she is a fan as well!
So thank you very much Oz and Gina – this was a very pleasant surprise!

You guys got a great toy, I know cuz my puppies got the bear. Oz is the best!
I can tell that whale is well loved: Look at the kissy marks! So sweet.

I love when they LOVE a toy! There was a toy in my swag bag from PetSafe and Sampson COULD NOT wait to have the tags removed, he actually jumped at my husband and snagged it out of his hands. LOL
Was that the panda toy, I think it was from PetSafe? Luke loved that too, but it didn’t live for very long around here unfortunately!
Too sweet!
What a fun toy! We have a big blue whale too…but ours has nip in it. 🙂
Luke you are just the cutest and I agree any packages that come in the house are for me! I love your blue whale it was nice of you to share it with Sheba. Tell your mom we hate carpet too that’s why we have wood floors. Love Dolly
Yeah, I was nice and shared with Sheba, and what did she do? Chewed a hole in my whale right where the squeaker was, so Momz took it out!
We have mostly wood floors too, but the Momz says getting staircases done is expensive, so we have carpet on that one staircase and landing. So of course that’s where the foolish cats gravitate to to have their accidents! Cats!
Love Luke
Pretty adorable!
Hahaha! My boys are looking for the source of the squeaking! It is even a hit at our house!
Yay!!! So glad your surprise arrived and that Luke and Sheba love the Kathy Ireland Loved Ones Durable Blue Whale!
Oz
We love that you made it a surprise too!
Yay!!! Congrats on winning!

New toys are as good as treats at our house. Those are the sweetest photos 🙂
Nothing like a new fun toy.
Looks like a fun toy – lucky pups! 🙂
LOL Thunder really liked the sound of that toy! Hopped right up from dead asleep to check it out.
Awwww, I’m glad you relented and let Luke play with the whale! He really enjoyed himself! Callie would love it, too. But with Ducky around I don’t dare leave the stuffies out! (I take the stuffies and Shadow’s favorite toys out on the days Ducky is at daycare.) What about Cricket? Does she like the whale?
Cricket hasn’t shown any interest in it, but she’s not big on stuffed toys like the other two. Mostly, she’s interested when they’ve ripped it apart, pulled out all the stuffing, and left just a carcass (which is what ultimately happens to all of them). THEN she likes to steal it away from them when they’re not looking!
Looks like you had a whale of a fun time!

Hee hee, very clever!
That whale is adorable! Enjoy!!
What a cute whale. Bailie loves squeaky toys too! Carpeting is great for human feet, but not good with pets. We had heated tile floors in our house in Germany and Mom loved that. Easy to clean, not as slippery as wood for pets.
I never realized that until you said it. We do have tile in our mud room and kitchen and the dogs don’t slip on it like they do on the wood. Heated tile floors sounds awesome!
ha! that Captain Ahab always wanted that whale and you got it as a gift… isn’t that great? Yay for Moby Dick who found a new home :o)
