Sheba just had her spring grooming (spa day) last week. This is her first haircut since her surgery. I love to show her off when she’s freshly trimmed and clean. This time the groomer went a little shorter with her cut so that the area that had been shaved for her surgery would blend in better, since it’s not quite all grown out yet. I think she looks great!

She looks great! And looks like she feels great too!
Sheba looks great! You can’t even tell where the shaved area was! I just have my Golden Girls brushed/combed out and bathed to preserve the insulation benefits of their double coats — and brush them out almost daily from the middle of May to the middle of October — but the groomer did a great job on her!
Oh, you’re so good, Sue! I can’t ever seem to keep up with Sheba’s brushing, and she usually ends up with some mats. So I like to have her groomed just 2-3 times/year to clean her up. Gosh, when I had two goldens….forget it, they were both always a mess! I never wanted to take them to a groomer (Moses would have completely freaked out), but at some point I just finally gave in. I think it was after Sheba got her x-rays before her arthritis diagnosis, and the vet tech cleaned her up a bit for free. I felt better having it done by her (she’s also the groomer), who Sheba knows and likes.
Well, to be honest, I wasn’t always so good — especially when I was still working — but I hate having to spend a long time working the mats out when I find them so my only option is to brush them out as often as possible. And our current groomer has been doing both girls for about 7 years already so she knows their “idiosyncrasies” by now. 😉
Aw, she looks so happy. And puppy soft!
Thanks again for the dog cookbooks! They came in the other day. I will do a thank you post sometime hopefully soon…
