We’re back! We’re settling into our new home, even though we still have a lot of work ahead of us. The dogs and Samantha seem to be getting used to the new space and the new routines. Our posts will probably be intermittent for a while longer but I wanted to get something out here to let you all know that the sale of our old home did go through and we’re here in our new home and loving it now. I will be sharing more details about how it all went, plus one special little story with hopefully some video to go with it. I honestly didn’t take a lot of photos because things were just a bit too hectic.
Here is what it looked like in one area of the new house on our second night (we didn’t get all of our furniture until thatย day). As you can see, the crew was exhausted (as were the humans)!

Now here is the view on the very next day and night! It’s not completed yet, we still have a new wood stove coming and decorating to do, but we can relax and take some breaks there and that’s the important thing.

Progress is being made but it will take a while as I’m sure many of you know from experience!
Thank you to BlogPaws for hosting the Wordless Wednesday blog hop!

congratulations! The hard part is over, now you can take your time settling in.
Love & biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
I can’t believe how great everything looked, even the next day! So happy that you can start to enjoy your new home (and the fur babies too).
Gosh you made a lot of progress. I am tired just looking at the pictures.
It looks it….but you couldn’t see what was behind me. LOL! We now have the main living area and the bedroom pretty well situated. My office is still in a mess, and we have the upstairs yet (but those are rooms we won’t use as much anyway). Of course that doesn’t count all the decorating and painting that is ahead of us but we’ll take our time at that. And yes, I have been exhausted!
Congrats – I knew you could do it! The house looks lovely, can’t wait to see more pics. Interested in how the gang is adjusting. But take your time, we’ll all be here when you get time to get us caught up.
I’m thrilled for you and so glad it went through. It looks like a beautiful place, I wish you so much luck and love there!
Moving is stressful! I hope you guys get settled in quickly.
Looks like everyone is settling in….even before the furniture is situated. ๐
Oh my, this is looking SO good, Jan!! Awesome job so far-so fast! So glad the doggies seem to be getting happy too, and soon totally comfortable!
WOW!! Look at ALL that you have accomplished and SO FAST!!! The before and after is amazing, even not being entirely finished! Isn’t it amazing how resilient the pets are? They will just pretty much “crash” anywhere! They just care about their humans being there with them. Huge Congratulations to you and I wish you all many, many happy and healthy years in your new home! xoxo
Thank you so much, Caren! You are right about the pets. They’re just happy that we’re here with them, no matter where we are. When our sale almost fell through, we said it didn’t matter as long as we still all had each other. But we are very happy we made it here. The crew really is adjusting well, though they still get a bit freaked out when we start moving stuff around (Luke and Sheba….Cricket and Sam couldn’t care less!).
It looks like you have made great progress! I remember feeling like I was playing house Jenga the last time I moved. I had to shift boxes just so I could open them! But it’s great to get it all done. It’ll be home sweet home before you know it.
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie
House Jenga…I think that’s an apt description! And why do I always want the box that’s at the bottom of the pile? ๐
Looks like you are making lots of great progress!
Wow, you’ve done a lot in a few days! And it looks like the dogs are enjoying the new home.
Moving is always so stressful! I’m glad things are going well! I can’t wait to hear more about the new house! ๐
It looks nice!! Congrats on your move!
So exciting to have a new house
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
Your new home looks beautiful! I’m so glad the closing and all the stress with the buyer is behind you now and you can focus on decorating and making things homey. Moving can be stressful but it’s also fun finding places for all your things and it looks like the pups have already settled right in. ๐
Thank you, Elaine! We are slowly settling in and getting things in their places, and it is fun. I especially enjoy the decorating part (though most of that is still in planning stages!). We’re still figuring out the new routines but I think soon it will feel like we’ve been here forever. ๐
I remember how much work is involved in moving, but it is mostly fun work,
We hadn’t moved in almost 23 years, so I forgot how much work it was! Plus we’re much older now…so feel it more…LOL. It is fun though, and we are enjoying putting things together and making the house into our own.
Looking very lovely, congrats!
I am so happy for you! I love those windows too. We are sending a big “Welcome Home” and congratulations! Thanks again for the amazing prize package. โฅ โฅ
Thank you, Melissa! We are so happy you are pleased with the prize package…you are very welcome!!
I see the dogs made themselves right at home pretty quick! The house looks good you made a lot of progress already, looking forward to seeing more. Love Dolly
Yay, very exciting that you’ve moved into your new home – looking forward to more pictures soon! I love your leather couch & chair, by the way ๐
Thank you! That leather furniture was in our downstairs TV room in the old house, and didn’t get a lot of use. We’re happy to have it front and center here!
Take your time – we will all still be here waiting for you.
The first pix are great! Eagerly awaiting more! Now go get some rest. ????????????
Hi Y’all!
Once you can find the coffee pot, water dishes and a place to sit…the rest can take care of itself.
Y’all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
That’s right…we have our priorities and the rest will fall into place in time. ๐
you bought a super house, no wonder that the furkids accepted it as your new home… and Luke as the guy had to check efurrything furst before he looked for a comfy nap place… we boys are always on duty :o)
Like!
Yes, it is so true, you boys are always on duty! We live in kind of a remote area now, so knowing Luke is keeping an eye on things really makes me feel more secure!
There is no rush as you are home! When we moved, we had only a bunch of boxes. We had to buy all new furniture and appliances because we came over from Europe. The place was real bare for a while, but just a few years and it is full! Enjoy your new home.
You are so right, Emma. We can take our time now and the process of unpacking, arranging, and planning is the fun part! We’ll get there eventually!
Looks GREAT so far and everyone looks like they’re finding their “space” too. It’s a whole lot of work getting squared away after a move but once it’s done – you can REST!
Hugs, Pam and Sam
Thank you, Pam & Sam! It is a lot of work but at least now we can take our time just a bit more, knowing we’ll get it all the way we want it in time!
