We’ve been big fans of West Paw Design for a lot of years now. Their Zogoflex toys are one of the few that have consistently stood up to many of our destructive dogs. Our late golden retriever, Sheba, was one of the worst, but Luke would give her a run for her money too. He is either maturing, or Sheba egged him on…but he’s been a bit better. He still has his moments though, I recently had to take a ball away from him that he was chewing on and consuming the pieces of (NOT a West Paw product)!

We’ve had a good variety of toys from West Paw. While the Zogoflex balls are Cricket’s favorite, we’ve had many plush toys too. They just didn’t stand up quite as well. I was very interested to read about this new line of Rowdies™ Durable Plush Toys, and to get an opportunity to try them out.

These toys are made with both HardyTex™ and Zogoflex®, and they are guaranteed! What other features are important to me?
- They are non-toxic and eco-friendly. That’s another reason this brand has always appealed to me. When Luke might chew off and accidentally swallow a little piece, I feel less worried since at least it’s not something toxic.
He can really gnaw away on these. So far all I’ve found are two very small pieces of fluff on the floor. - They are made right in Bozeman, Montana, home of West Paw.
- Hardy-Tex is a tough plush fabric that is reinforced with mesh backing for enhanced durability. Hardy-Tex was developed and tested by West Paw to ensure its toughness.
- They’re machine washable!
- The Zogoflex Chew Zone is really cool. I wasn’t sure Luke would go for it, but you can see in the photos below that he was really into chomping right down on that (and you can’t tell he did – not even a dent!).
He loves to get his teeth into that Zogoflex Chew Zone!

Now Cricket is not as excited about toys as Luke is (she is 13 years old after all!). She will play with them but only on occasions when she’s in the mood. So Luke is our chief toy tester around here. So the big question was would he like them (and consistently like them, because he gets bored really easy with toys too), and would he choose a favorite? You’ll find the answer to the latter question in the video below.

I’m hoping these will definitely be keepers, and that maybe Cricket will take a turn with them soon too!

Pssst….don’t tell Luke there are three more Rowdies characters to choose from – Jefferson*, Lincoln*, and Rosebud*!
How fun! You got ones we didn’t get. It’s nice to see how they work out. We sure love our Jefferson and Lincoln!
He is having a great time with those.
He sure is!
I think I actually bought my guys some of these a few years back. They were pricey if I recall, but they were made in the US so I jumped on it. They’ve also held up pretty well.
Glad you found something that Luke loves, that also keeps his interest.
I think these are new? But they do have other toys that look quite similar, maybe without the toughness factor though.
So far Luke is still interested in them, but we’ll have to see if that continues! He’s a tough one! 🙂
These are super cute–and Rye loves her West Paw Tizzi, so I think these would be a hit, too. I haven’t purchased any of their stuffed toys because Rye can destroy a stuffed toy in seconds, so I didn’t think they’d stand up to that, but it looks like these might last a little bit longer, so she might get one in the spring for her birthday 🙂
Luke really seems pretty obsessed with chewing on the Zogoflex part of it, instead of trying to rip the soft part apart, which surprised me! So maybe Rye will do the same.
Those are so cute! I know the boys would like them. They enjoy the furry toys.
Cricket has even picked one up now….but then Luke stole it from her again. LOL I bet the boys would love these.
I’ll have to tell my sister about these toys. Their dog is a serious chewer.
West Paw is one of the few brands that have really stood up to the test around here, they are definitely worth a try for your sister and her dog.
They are ALL adorable! The video was lots of fun, too. Sadly, Ruby is afraid of toys that squeak.
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed the video. That is too bad Ruby is afraid of squeakers….I know how tough it can be to find soft toys that don’t have them.
Bear Cat is hard on his toys too. He really likes to dig his claws and teeth into his toys (the reason the laser pointer is forgotten). These toys are cute! And standing up to Luke is no small feat!
Our late cat Katie (Sam’s sister) was also very tough on toys, so I know what that is like! Maybe you should try the small one of these with him…there’s no law that says you can’t give a cat a dog toy, right? 🙂
ok so where is the give-away? (wink) They ARE super cute!
Ha ha, you don’t get one EVERY time! 🙂
Good job Luke, you could be a professional toy tester!
He’d be happy to apply for that job!
If they’re that strong, maybe they’ll stand up to Ducky’s “toy terminator” power-chewer self.
I’d say they might be worth a try with Ducky anyway!
oh they are super cute!!! take the orange one… or nah the brown guy… or the purple one… guess what? take all ;O)
That’s exactly what Luke was thinking!
