Ever since the beginning of the year I had been toying with the idea of changing my “tag line” for the blog. “For the love of pets” was just starting to feel too generic to me. I threw the idea out when I participated in the Pet Blogger Challenge in January, and support from other bloggers and followers encouraged me to do it.
Changing the tag line can have a bit of a snowball effect though, so there will be some more (minor) design changes on the blog coming soon. Once I had the tag line established, I needed a new logo and that has been in the works as well. I needed a little professional help for what I wanted to do there, and also for some of the changes for the blog, and these things take time (it should all be done next week).
However, I am impatient and I can’t wait any longer to reveal the new logo, because I LOVE IT SO MUCH! So here it is, you are getting a sneak peek before it finds its permanent place on the blog:
I send a huge thank you to Melanie Thomas of Lace & Lark for the wonderful drawing and design! Even if you don’t need a logo done, you should check her website out (and in truth, logos aren’t even her specialty!). She will do a drawing of your pets at very reasonable prices.
Once the changes are made on the blog, I’ll be sharing a little bit more about how I came up with this tag line. It was really a fun creative process for me.

Guess who’s coming this weekend? Who will be living in here for a little while, and it’s not a puppy?! Yup, just in time for Easter our new little chicks will be coming to their new home, Barking Dog Organic Farm. Not that it has anything to do with Easter, we would never get chicks or bunnies just because of a holiday. They are a lifetime commitment, and it was just a coincidence for us that they are arriving this weekend.
I hope to have some photos to share on Monday, and you’ll be hearing a lot more about them in the future.

Well, I hope “brave” is the right word, and not “stupid”. LOL! The room is out of the way, and we just didn’t have any place outside for them that we could keep warm enough. We’ll see how it goes when they get bigger!
I’ll be interested to find out if the Solvit harness is crash tested or not. Love the new logo and tag line can’t wait to see it all finished. Mom’s cousin has chickens she has trouble getting rid of all the eggs! Love Dolly
We hope we will be able to sell some of those eggs, because I do think we could end up with a lot! I’ll have the Solvit post up by the end of the week with details, but yes, it is crash tested.

I love the new logo and tag line. That chick heater looks awesome, the chicken chick puts contact paper on her chick heater so it is easier to clean. http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2014/02/how-to-build-better-brooder-for-raising.html. I will have to check out Lace and Lark. Handle your chicks everyday to make them easier to handle when outside. Can’t wait to see them. Happy Easter.
