Autumn rolled in on a wave of storms last weekend. The temperatures dropped as the rain pulled out, and you could feel summer fading away. Left behind were clouds, and then the colors of fall seemed to reveal themselves in the early September sky.
Summer hasn’t left completely yet, however. There are still late summer flowers in our memorial garden, which hadn’t yet revealed themselves when I first shared the garden back in July.

The Snapdragons finally came into bloom, and the Torenia joined in as well. I have always loved Snapdragons, and the Torenia I first planted last year….they are delicate and beautiful little flowers that fill out into lovely little bunches.

The memorial garden and winding down of summer bring to mind happy memories of our beautiful pets who are honored in that garden, with their tags hanging on the trellis.

And these visitors have been paying more visits to our yard….last time we saw these two young ones they were still with their Mama, but I didn’t see her when I took this photo!
Goodbye to summer and hello to autumn….the changing of the seasons is truly a beautiful event that touches the soul.
Thank you to Sugar the Golden Retriever for letting us join in this blog hop. The idea of this hop is to share about something that made your day, week, or month, even season, inspiring you in seeing beauty. Sugar was inspired by the See Beautiful blog.
Beautiful pictures. I think we got a taste of winter at the show on Saturday…no kidding. 🙂 Today the sun is out and it is delightful. What a difference a sunny day makes.
It hasn’t been too bad here, but definitely cooler than September has been in years. But we’ve had a lot of sun too (it does make a big difference, doesn’t it?) They are saying frost or freeze by the end of the week though!
That sky is incredible! What beautiful photos! It really feels like fall here today – it was 49 out when we got up this morning! But this is my absolute favorite time of year!
Thank you! We finally started getting the real fall weather this week, the mornings have been quite chilly as well (I think 42 yesterday). There’s a frost advisory out for tonight too, so it’s really coming now. It’s my favorite as well, and I think the dogs like it too. They seemed very energized this morning.
What an amazing fiery sky! Your memorial garden sounds and looks lovely. My late summer bulbs didn’t grow this year, so our yard is looking pretty dismal at the moment. Chewy has been having fun pulling dried out grasses and crops out of the ground, though.
The vegetable garden is really dying off, and we only have a few stray veggies left. They are saying a possibility of frost tonite, so we’ll probably pick the rest of everything. I hope the flowers in the garden will survive for a little longer though! The dogs will be happy when they’re allowed back in the veggie garden area though!
LOVE it and its our favorite season. Beautiful sunset photos. Happy Seeing Beauty. Golden Woofs
Thank you, Sugar! Let’s hope winter holds off and we have a nice long fall!
Such pretty flowers! We like fall, but we’re not quite ready for the cold weather yet.
If it could just stay fall, and not lead into winter, right?
Very pretty! I love the idea of a memorial garden. We planted a special tree after our dog Keesha died. And we have several bushes dedicated to smaller pets, but they are in different parts of the yard.
When we lost our golden Moses to cancer last summer, our neighbor brought over some hosta lilies to plant in his memory. That’s when I got the idea of doing the garden, and I’m so glad I did. It’s just nice to have those special tributes to them, and so much better than gravestones!
After our hot and humid summers, the fall is always such a welcome relief! Your memorial garden is so pretty. ♥
Thank you!! Our summer wasn’t very hot this year, but there is still just something special about the cool and crisp fall air.
All these photos are so beautiful, but I do particularly enjoy the photos of the sky. Clouds can hamper the lovely summer sun from getting through, but they sure do make for a gorgeous sky.
Thank you, Dawn. I know, I hate anything that blocks the sun, but the clouds can be so pretty….especially at dusk when the sun is already gone down anyway! 🙂
Beauwooowoootiful! Anipals toowoowoooooo! 🙂
Thank you so much, Ku!!!
Absolutely beautiful photos. Makes me really excited for the day that we finally leave the dry Montana climate.
Thank you! I don’t think I realized that Montana was dry. It is beautiful out there too though (I only know from photos, I’ve never been there)!
Great photos. Love the colors in those snap dragons. Fall is a wonderful time of year.
It is really my favorite season, even if it is followed by my least favorite, winter!
wow!!!!!! These are absolutely beautiful photos!!!!!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thank you, Jenna!
We love the seasons too, but right now we have a big cold snap and it is a bit too sudden. This time of year we wonder how we survive going out all the time in winter with below zero temps when we freeze at 50 degrees, but we start slowly adjusting. Beautiful pics you have.
Thank you, Emma. It hasn’t been very chilly here yet, though today it was quite a bit cooler than it has been. At least you adjust to the colder temps, I can never get used to that below zero stuff!
It’s beautiful to see your sky and your garden. Snapdragons are great they are a sweet memory of my childhood :o)
Thank you! There are a few flowers I also remember from growing up, and Snapdragons are one of them. Marigolds are another favorite.
What a beautiful post. Your flowers are beautiful and I love snapdragons too! I love sky photos too! Have a beautiful day.
Thank you, JoAnn! Mother Nature really does have lots of beautiful things for us to enjoy!
