Since 2004, Carpet One, a cooperative of 1,000 locally owned flooring stores in the USA and Canada, has been raising money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through their Pink Ribbon Welcome Mat campaign.
This year they have added a mat with a pattern called “Paws for a Cause” to their designer-inspired collection, as a way to reach out to pet lovers and families to help support this important fund.
Wag ‘n Woof Pets received this welcome mat free of charge in exchange for sharing this campaign. We received no other compensation and all opinions are our own. We’re happy to support this project during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Of the over 220,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year, nearly 40,000 will not survive. Breast cancer is the 2nd leading cause of death for women, and 1 in 1,000 men are also diagnosed with this disease. The good news is that due to early detection and increased awareness, death rates have been declining since 1990.
There are 2.8 million survivors, and I’m happy to be able to say that one of my favorite aunts is one of those survivors.
To date, Carpet One has raised nearly a million dollars for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The BCRF is a five star rated not-for-profit organization with a mission to prevent and cure breast cancer by advancing the world’s most promising research. They have funded more than 10 million hours of research since 1990.
For each mat sold by Carpet One for $24.99 in the USA ($34.99 in Canada), 25% of the proceeds will directly support the BCRF. There are many different designs to choose from, including the Paws for a Cause seen here, and some designs are seasonal as well.

If you visit a Carpet One store to purchase one of these mats, you not only help an important cause, but you receive a quality product:
- Made in the USA
- Rubber backed, for use indoor or out
- Water & stain resistant, and machine washable
- Available in Carpet One stores in the US and Canada year round.

I love this mat, and we’ve been busy deciding which door to put it in front of (you might notice it’s in a different location in every photo)! It is larger than I thought it would be, and the colors are bright and cheerful. Each design includes the pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness. It didn’t take long for ours to get covered in pet hair, and just a quick swipe with the vacuum made it look good as new.

You can visit Carpet One’s website to view the different designs available, and find a store in your area through their store locator. Why not drop by and pick up an attractive yet practical accent for your home, and help a wonderful cause at the same time?
I like the design and for a great cause!
That is a neat mat!
I love it! breast cancer invaded my family years ago, so I try to be extremely supportive. Thanks for sharing.
I’m sorry this awful cancer has affected your family, Cathy. I’m happy to try and help, if only in this small way.
That’s a nice mat…and thanks for spreading the word about such an important topic.
That is a terrific rug for a wonderful cause. I know too many women and men that have been affected by breast cancer. Thanks for sharing.
I imagine everyone knows at least one person that has been affected by this awful disease. 🙁 I’m glad to be able to try to help in some small way.
What a great message. Love the mat

Nice mat! I would buy one as my mom was a breast cancer victim in 1979; but the Carpet One store near us closed due to mismanagement and never re-opened.
I remember it was cancer, but I’d forgotten it was breast cancer that took your, Mom, Sue. 🙁 I do wish they sold these mats online so they’d be easier to get.
What a cool looking mat and a great idea!
