The Momz says: “Why do dogs have to come stand right next to their humans before they do that?”
It hasn’t been very hot here this summer, so on our recent swimming trips, I haven’t really wanted to get wet. I still do though!
Sheba says (ignoring my question): “If you really get into it right, it’s like a mini workout!”

Once in a while they do give off a warning that it’s coming though, so I can stand back!

Sheba says: “Yeah, just pay attention, Momz, you know it’s coming!”
Look at the water just pouring off her….she is like a sponge! And you can only tell how slim she really is when she’s soaking wet!
The real summer weather seems to finally be here, so I won’t mind so much if she insists on sharing from now on!
Did you see our cat Samantha’s health update? We are celebrating her returning health by giving away a Jackson Galaxy Cat Crawl. Click here to be taken to the post where you can enter the giveaway (ends Wednesday).

i can’t believe you’re quoting Taylor Swift!
Honestly, when I came up with the title I didn’t know it was a Taylor song! I was deciding between Shake It Up, Shake Your Booty, etc., and when I looked them all up I discovered it. Since Sheba is a cute blonde too, I thought it was appropriate. 🙂
Our dogs don’t get wet unless it’s bath time. They get such a kick out of shaking the water off and it destroys the bathroom – 4 dogs later, I have quite the mess.
Next year, we’ll have 2 new ponds so plenty of opportunities for the dogs to get soaking wet.
Two ponds! Then this crew will be jealous!
We have a tile shower, but can we get the dogs to shake off when they’re in there? Of course not, they always wait until they come out so they can get the whole bathroom wet!
OMG – at our house too. I’ll close the shower door and stand there waiting. They can wait longer. The 2nd they get out, they’re shaking.
The bipeds sometimes try to get a towel over me before I shake, but they rarely succeed!
LOL we work on teaching the dogs to shake on cue and away from us otherwise you can get drenched.
Now that’s a good idea!
So similar for our boys, you don’t know how slim they are until they are soaking wet. We are on a bit of a hiatus from swimming because both boys have skin problems after a little too much fun while Mom and Dad were on vacation. Sheba is the cutest, I wish I could squeeze her!
So cute! And she is def’ly a skinny-mini when she’s wet! Have you ever seen those super slo-mo vids of dogs shaking? They’re amazing how they practically wring themselves out! But yeah… why do they always have to stand by the human when they do it? 🙂
With all that shaking, Sheba, you’ll be dry in no time!
Can’t get wet without following up with a great shake!
Mr. N rarely gets wet out of his own volition so it’s not a huge problem but he has some water loving friends that like to shake right next to me!
Sage, maybe? 🙂
Oh yes we wuvs to shake the water all over Mama! Sisser has been also shaking the ear cleaning stuff all over her too :/
Oh no, ear cleaning stuff, that’s even worse than water! 🙂
They SO do that on purpose!!! ALWAYS! Walk right on over all soaking wet and boom! Shake time!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Sheba says it’s call sharing a little summer with the ones you love LOL
“Shake, Shake, Shake It Off!”
great pictures and I often wonder why they have to share there water with us.
It is really nice of our dogs to share their baths and swims with their humans.
Sherman likes to shake it off too….usually when I’m close by!
Bentley can’t do a very good full body shake but Pierre will drench me. LOL!
Those are some great action shots! Taylor would be so proud of Sheba! Mom throws a towel on us after our baths until we get done shaking it off.
You mentioned cleaning off Samantha with some wipes from BlogPaws. Not sure if you heard of not, but if they are the Paul Mitchell brand they contain an ingredient that is toxic to cats. A vet noticed and they announced it one morning. Hoping not! Love Dolly
Thank you for mentioning about the wipes, Dolly. I did remember about that announcement, and had saved the email. The ones I am going to use are Burt’s Bees.
that’s a good question… and I only have one answer: because we can :o) that was a super shake Sheba, bet even Taylor Swift is green with envy now of your version of shake it off :o)
Ha ha, we love that answer, Easy!
Sheba wants to know: who is the cuter blonde? Her or Taylor? 🙂
Yes! I’ve always wanted to know why dogs get right next to you before shaking off? I wonder if anyone has ever studied that, lol!
LOVE it!
We like to shake off on Mom too. She says we lose half our size when we are wet, but the most amazing thing is how small our heads are when all the face fur is flattened by water. Enjoy the swimming!
