…..Finally getting to have a nice walk in the sunshine!

As you can notice in the first photo, Luke has his paw up in the air, so while it was nice and sunny, it was still pretty chilly! Therefore, happiness is also….
Lying in front of the wood stove until you are so hot you start panting!
This photo made this Momz extra happy too. Luke doesn’t often do that, he usually gets up and moves when he gets too hot, to one of his other favorite spots, or often in front of one of the sliding glass doors, where it’s cooler. Seeing him sitting there panting reminded me SO much of our Angel beagle Cricket, who was quite often seen lying in front of that stove panting away! She would continue to do that for several minutes before finally getting up to move. Luke didn’t last long at all. 🙂
Don’t you love it when one of your pets does something that reminds you of one of your angels, and it brings a smile to your face instead of making you sad? It doesn’t always affect you in that positive way, so it’s nice when it does. ♥

Aw, I’m so glad that Luke reminded you of Cricket. There’s nothing like a very hot fire after being out in the super cold air! We are toasting right now with a snowstorm underway outside.
It really is the absolute best! I’m spoiled too – if it’s anything less than 75 degrees in the house, I think I’m cold! My spot on the couch is the closest to the stove. 🙂
It hs to be a great feeling to get in front of the fireplace after a walk in the snow. It looks beautiful!
Add in a hot cup of coffee or cocoa, and it’s perfection! )
Love Cricket memories with a smile, thanks Luke!
You are a lucky boy Luke.
I think he knows it. ♥
We bet that fire feels good after being outside in the snow, Luke. Even if the sun is shining…which looks beautiful, by the way.
Even better, the last couple of days it’s been sunny AND warmer.
Aaawwww, both sights re so adorable! We often see a bit of our Angel Lhasa Dory in Miss Rosy…especially when it comes to food(and eating anything in sight LOL)!
Hee hee, Rosy never struck me as the food hound type!! 🙂
this was a sweet post and I couldn’t agree more!
Thank you, Caren. ♥
Even though the sun was out that snow looks cold so the fireplace was a darn good choice Luke!
He’s a smart boy!
Those sure are LONG shadows! Beautiful!
Wish we had a fireplace here…
The morning sun is still pretty low in the sky, so I guess you get that effect! 🙂
I love shadow photos too! So glad you had some nice weather so you could get outside .
The last couple of days have been even better, since it’s getting up into the 40’s!
Sunshine on a snowy day is great. really like those shadow photos. You look so comfy in front of that fire. Stay warm.
Sunshine on a snowy day is one part of winter that is enjoyable. With a lack of daylight anyway, to not have it be sunny seems like a real loss.
It’s so true! I always crave more light in the winter. It’s such a relief when we reach the solstice and the days finally start getting longer again!
Luke is handsome and very smart too. He knows when it’s time to move. I’m glad you had some sunshine to enjoy.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Luke. My best to your mom. ♥
He is our smart boy!! ♥
We love the sunshine too – it means we can be out in the yard with Ducky instead of cooped-up in the house all day.
And as to the memories? I smile whenever Ducky scratches and digs at one of the dog beds before she lays down on it because that’s what Kissy used to do, too. Callie and Shadow would scratch and dig at the bed and then walk away and lay on one of the other beds or the floor. 😁
That’s funny! Cricket used to scratch at the beds too, but I don’t think our goldens did. Of course, Moses preferred to eat them. LOL
Sun, fire and a pooch. Three of my favorite things.
It makes for a perfect day!
we have nearly spring like weather but even the cold fireplace is a comfy place
I sit in front of the fireplace until I’m so hot I can barely get up to move. Mom says I’m nuts! As for doing things that remind us of angels, it makes Mom cry. It will take a long time until she can really smile about reminders of Emma. It happened just yesterday at nose work class. I found a hide that Emma had found in an amazing search a few years ago. I found it almost exactly the same way and it made my mom cry. Oh well. One day she will feel better.
You sound just like Cricket then! I understand how your Mom feels, it takes a while for sure. It’s been almost two years that Cricket’s been gone now too, and the memories do still sometimes bring tears. ♥
Oh my gosh! I just noticed it’s almost been 2 years without our favorite ball lover, Cricket. On the one hand, it seems so much longer than that – but on the other – almost like yesterday. Dogs grab your heart and refuse to let go – even when you only know them by reading about them.
Gosh, I miss that crazy ball-obsessed girl! Luke has no interest in playing fetch, and I still feel like I don’t know what to do with myself when we’re out in the yard sometimes!
We love the sunshine on a cold winter day too, Luke – actually, we love to see the sunshine every day!
We agree with that!
