Pretty flowers and bushes like the spirea seen below can serve more than just the purpose of enhancing the landscape. They can attract beneficial insects like bees, and other creatures that can keep Luke entertained:

Haha it’s in their deep!
Delilah doesn’t see as well now due to her eye condition. I’ve noticed this year is the first year she hasn’t sat at the window watching for Chippies. I think that’s because she has trouble making things out now. It makes me sad that she can’t do something that she loved so much.
Oh, that is so sad….poor Delilah. It is so tough to see them unable to do things they used to enjoy. 🙁
Did you get him?
He didn’t get this one, but he has gotten others!
That looks like a bush full of all kinds of fun! My sister’s yard has a huge pine tree where bunnies hide–and one met its end this week when Rye and her new cousin teamed up on it. I hope your chipmunks fare better than the bunny!
Most do….but Luke has been successful on at least one occasion. Poor little chippie…and bunny!
Dat are definitely a good hiding spot Luke. Next time you could jump out and scare all da bugs befur they can get inside 😉 BOL

Excellent idea!!!
I’m trying to get caught up on my reading again. I’ve had this cold all week and it’s taken all my willpower just to do the things I had to do.
Luke is so cute! His focus on that chippy under the bush reminds me of Ducky watching the squirrels in our oak tree. ❤️❤️
They do get obsessed, don’t they?
Get him, Luke! Chippers can be such a PAIN!
We’ve got way too many of them around here this year, and they keep digging holes in my flower pots!
We love your spirea, Mommy can’t manage to keep them alive.
Oh my gosh, I can’t kill these! I cut them back every year and they keep coming back stronger! 🙂
We love you, Luke. You always make us smile.
We love you right back, and are happy we can make you smile!!
We hope you found what you were hunting, Luke!
I don’t think he got it…this time. 🙂
Are you mooning us, Luke! You are so funny with your head in those bushes! I love it!
He’s such a naughty boy…LOL!!
I hope you gave that chipper a real fright!
I’m sure he did!!
Get it Luke, get that chippy!!
What a beautiful bush!!

It’s really not my favorite bush…LOL….I mostly keep it because the bees (and now Luke) like it so much! 🙂
Those were fun, good job Luke!
That is cute 🙂 Have a nice weekend!
Disappearing is real! Two years ago, Bailie went missing in the yard. Mom looked everywhere, called her, nothing! Panic set in pretty fast. Come to find out, she had dug a shallow spot in the dirt under a really large bush, and she was lying in there to stay cool. You could not see her at all unless you went to the bush and pushed away some branches. Tricky dogs!
I can just imagine how freaked out your poor Mom must have been!!
Don’t you just love it when their whole being is focused on something in a shrub like that? That little butt is just too cute.
Their intensity about stuff can be amazing sometimes!
Ha ha! You get ’em, Luke! There is something (rabbit, I think) that hides under our bushes and intrigues Layla, but she just barks at it when she goes out at 5:30 a.m.–not such a good thing in our subdivision!
A lot of early morning barking goes on around here too…thank goodness we won’t have close neighbors!
