Our friend Oz the Terrier is hosting a blog hop, contest and fundraiser along with Zuke’s to help raise money for the Dog and Cat Cancer Fund, an organization dedicated to the understanding, prevention, and treatment of cancer in dogs and cats.
For every blogger that links up a post and shows a photo of their pets LOVING LIFE, Zuke’s will donate $5 to the Dog and Cat Cancer Fund. It’s as easy as that!
Just this last Sunday we did a virtual fundraiser walk to raise money for Morris Animal Foundation, another organization dedicated to fighting cancer in animals. Sheba, Luke, my sister and I had a nice walk and below is a collage of some of the highlights. This is our entry to show Sheba and Luke LOVING LIFE and walking in memory of their brother Moses, who we lost to cancer one year ago yesterday. What better way to honor Moses’ memory, and the memory of other animals we have lost to cancer, than by getting out and enjoying life while raising money to fight this awful disease that took theirs away?
We had a nice long walk, a fun swim, and as you can see they were pretty worn out by the end! I will be sharing more about our walk in a post later this week.
This blog hop is open through Saturday June 28th, and there are prizes (Zuke’s treats of course)! It is open to all US, UK, and Canada bloggers!
HOW TO JOIN:
- Write a short #FuelTheCure blog post
- Include a photo of yourself (if you are a dog) or your dog LOVING LIFE in your post
- Join the hop on any day through Saturday, June 28 (when you link to the hop, in the “Name Required” field please put your name or blog name and either US, UK, CA as this will help determine your contest entry – ex. “Oz the Terrier US”).
- For more information, visit Oz’s post here.
Please join in the fun and help to raise money for a very important cause!
We’re hopping on to the BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday hop as well. Please click here to be taken there for the links to follow or join in. The links below are for the #FuelTheCure hop.
Geez, I’ve got to get my act together and join this Hop – thanks for the reminder!
Good luck, you’ve got a day or two left I think! Glad we could remind you.
Great idea for a hop. Love your walking for a cure pictures.
Thank you! I wasn’t happy with the quality of the photos I got….I brought a camera that I should have known wouldn’t do the job. But I tried to make the best of it. 🙂
Your outdoor adventures look like so much fun. We’re only getting stated back up after a long haitus so unfortunately will not be able to enter the blog hop but hope to do these soon again. 🙂
We do have fun. I’m sure you will get plenty of opportunities to join some hops in the future…congrats on getting started back up!
You guys went for a walk and a swim. How FUN! Golden Woofs
I think you know from experience how fun those things are, Sugar, and we were lucky to be able to do both!
this is such a great hop, we were excited to join in. Sorry to hear you lost your Moses to this dreaded disease. this is a wonderful way to honor him.
hugs
Mr Bailey, Hazel & Greta
Thank you so much. It’s great to see you and so many others joining in….it all helps I think!
We were going to join the Morris walk, but I just didn’t have the money to join up this time. I’m hoping next year we’ll be able to do it. It looks like you guys had a great time!
We had fun. I liked that you can make it into whatever you want. Hope you can join next year!
What a great walk and swim your gang had for a great cause. So sorry for the loss of Moses a year ago. It’s always hard and they stay with you forever.
It was fun for us and an easy way to raise some money. Thank you for your thoughts on Moses. Time does help but the anniversaries kind of bring things back.
I saw this on Sand Spring yesterday and I need to get my post up! Such a great cause. Wow – I can’t believe it’s a year already since Moses. That first anniversary is so hard. Sending you a big hug. I agree – there is no better way to honor Moses than to get out and “love life” with the pups, while raising money to fight cancer at the same time!
Thank you for the hug, Jackie. I’m glad you agree that what we did was a good way to honor Moses. At first I felt funny posting that we had such a good time, but really, that’s what he would want, I know. I do already feel better having gotten through that first anniversary, and will try to focus on the happy memories now.
Thanks so much for the reminder! I will try to get that posted and hop along on Friday. I know that first anniversary is proving to be difficult here too. We both lost our Golden loves around the same time. I’m trying to remember the happy times and forget the last few days. It’s hard but you did a great honor by walking Sunday.
Glad you will be joining in the hop, Melissa! I also try to focus on the happy times and not the sad time at the end. I think getting through that first anniversary helped me, so I hope it will you too. Also, doing something positive like the walk and this hop helped me too.
The anniversaries of deaths are hard. You kind of want to forget, but it has a way of rearing its head. Isis died on Groundhog Day, which is also my brother’s wedding anniversary. It’s hard to forget, even if I didn’t have a sharp memory for dates.
I’m sorry about Moses.
But this hop is a great idea. I’ll have to jump on board.
Thank you. I’ll watch for your post in the hop!
I try not to dwell on anniversaries too much. I think the fact that the walk fell so close to Moses’ anniversary is why I felt it more. I hope the first year is the worst, and in time the date won’t always stick with me. I honestly couldn’t tell you the dates of a lot of the past animals we lost. I remember the years, and the time of year but that’s usually it. For me, it’s better that way.
Great cause.
Yes it is!!
Awesome. I’m hoping to enter on the last day. It’s a busy blogging week at our house.
Thanks! I know it can get crazy sometimes with our blogging schedules. We hope you can manage to squeeze this one in too!
It is indeed an excellent cause and we sure hope lots more peeps join in. Looks like you had fun on your walk
I hope a lot more will join in as well, it really is such a great cause!
Beautiful post. I have not yet dealt with K9 cancer, so I cannot imagine. But I am glad you get out and walk for the cause etc…good for you! And I know Moses would be proud for sure!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thank you, Jenna. I hope you never have to deal with it. I like to think Moses and our other pets we’ve lost to cancer were walking along with us in spirit!
Oh, so happy to hear that you participated in the Virtual Walk for the Morris Foundation this past Sunday! What a wonderful way to raise money while remembering those that have been lost to cancer. Thank you for joining in my hop to help raise funds for The Dog and Cat Cancer Fund!
Oz
We are trying to do everything we can to help stop this awful disease. Thanks for having the hop, Oz, and giving us another opportunity to help!
