In this installment of “Friday Family & Friends” we are sharing my niece’s dogs. We recently spent Thanksgiving at her house; she and her hubby cooked us one awesome dinner! We enjoyed our time with family, and that family includes canines Ramsey and Crooked.
Ramsey and Crooked’s family consists of their Mom and Dad and their almost teenage daughter (at least I don’t think my great niece is a teenager yet…darn, they grow up too fast, don’t they?).

Ramsey is a 9 year old boxer/rottweiler mix who was born here in New Hampshire. He joined their family as a puppy, but he sure grew up to be a big guy! Ramsey is slim and trim and solid muscle, and one of the biggest sweethearts you could ever meet. He enjoys swimming, fishing, and hanging out in the shop working with his family.

Ramsey’s favorite indoor activity is chasing lights and reflections – you might even say he’s just a tad obsessed with that hobby. He’s a big spoiled guy who sleeps in his Mom and Dad’s bed, and I imagine doesn’t leave a lot of room for them!

Ramsey’s canine brother also sleeps in their bed, but since he’s the total opposite size takes up less room; Crooked is a little Chihuahua.

He is about 7 years old and a rescue of sorts. He was in a family with 6 kids and 6 dogs which was too much for that family, and he was in danger of going to the shelter. My niece stepped in and gave him a home. It was supposed to be a temporary home at first, I believe, but Crooked obviously convinced them he needed to stay. Crooked can be shy of strangers and he had some issues at first, but they worked through them. He still holds back a bit, but before you know it, he’s settling in on your lap.

Crooked likes to wear coats to stay warm in the winter, and in the summer he also enjoys hanging out at the lake, running around and riding in the boat.
You might wonder how he got his name? Here you go:

We hope you enjoyed meeting these two handsome guys today!

Aw, what cuties! I love Ramsey’s expressive face! When Callie and Shadow used to sleep on the bed with me – after I escaped the sound of hubby’s snoring – I used to awaken to find myself right at the edge while they were both spread out. What I wouldn’t give to have those days – make that nights – back again!! Could I possibly borrow Crooked – love that name! – to teach the Chihuahua twins next door some manners?? He’s adorable!! Love that cute crooked tail!
WOW! Ramsey has such a young puppy face. Adorable! Makes me want to squeeze his cheeks.
You sure have some handsome family members.
Ramsey is cute! He’s so big I can’t imaging there’s much room left on the bed for his humans.
Crooked sure is! He looks like he’s the king of the house.
Great pics-and post, Jan! Those 2 look too cute, and nice to hear a little about their background that I probably had not heard!
Nice to meet your family.
What an interesting combo! Ramsey has the sweetest face…and Crooked is adorable too.
It’s too funny they ended up with two such extremes in sizes, isn’t it?
They’re both adorable and so obviously lovable. Thanks for introducing them! 🙂
Thanks for coming by to meet them! 🙂
So much sweetness!!
I have to tell you, while they are both adorable, I am COMPLETELY IN LOVE with Ramsey’s face!!!!! OMD what a cutie!!
I know, I’m a bit partial to the big guy too. He definitely has a face that the camera loves too…and he has that head tilt down to an art…irresistible!
What an adorable bunch
Lily & Edward
Big and Small love it. they are handsome!!
Oh my gosh. Crooked is so incredibly cute! Those eyes are fantastic–he probably didn’t have to work too hard to convince your niece to let him stay 🙂
Ramsey and Bentley would definitely be besties. They could chase the elusive light together. He is absolutely adorable. They really have two different sized dogs. LOL! Crooked certainly deserves that name. What a doll. ♥
Nice set of brothers. I bet they are best buddies even though they are so different!
That face! And those ears! Both cuties.
Aww they are cuties!!
