I had big plans today for joining this week’s Flower Friday blog hop. Spring has finally sprung and I was sure that my daffodils would open just in time! However, I was thwarted by two days of rain, and this is as close as we got:

So instead today we’ll share a photo of our resident flower-named guinea hen, Violet, being silly:

We also have a guessing game to play today. The Dadz is up to something with his tractor again!

It’s the start of a special project for me.

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you might be able to guess what is going here. It’s something very close to my heart that we had at our other house, but I couldn’t take with me. I can’t wait to share it’s progress with you, just like I did the last time. Have I given it away?
Leave your guess in the comments, and have a great weekend!
Thank you to our friends at Living Laughing Barking in Our Back Yard for hosting the Flower Friday blog hop. Please visit other blogs through the links below!
Haha cute violet!!!
I’m pretty sure that I know what your project is and I can’t wait to see it if I’m right because the one at the old house was so beautiful. I love that photo of Violet–what a character!
You just would not believe how entertaining these guinea hens are! I need to do some more video of them.
I am sure you guessed correctly on the project!
Nice flowers. I’ll join in when we get some flowers. I just have last years flowers.
Hope yours are blossoming soon!
That even took me a bit, and as I started to read your hint, thought pond (so that’s a good guess by others not as familiar with your land layout), but realized wrong location -and after reading more, yes, you then have given it away to me I am quite sure! Looking forward to how lovely you will make it!
Happy Spring, with more to follow!
We love garden guessing games…..so, we guess “Pond”?
♥♥
Wyatt and Tegan
That is a great guess! We want a pond, but that’s not what this project is. Hopefully a pond will be the next one though!
This project is right up your alley, I think. 🙂
I guess I haven’t been reading long enough to figure it out 🙂
Can’t wait to see what you turn that patch of dirt into! I love how the hens are their own characters – just like their brother and sister and Angels. We so underestimate the abilities of our animals.
One thing I never expected when we got birds was what personalities they would have!
Looks like you’re going to be busy this spring!
Spring can be overwhelming sometimes, and I really didn’t need a new project to keep busy! LOL
I haven’t been reading that long, but do look forward to seeing the finish project 🙂
There’s a lot of history to it, and I’ll share the previous posts in the new ones, if you’re interested!
Spring + Chickens = well, you get it. Have fun on your project and have a great weekend.
I’m sure your daffies will cooperate for next week! I know what you’re building…another memorial garden ❤️❤️
You are right, Melissa!!! ♥
How exciting to see your daffies so close to blooming!!
We can’t wait to see the big reveal and progression of your project!!
When I came back from vacation over the weekend I was pleasantly surprised to see the daffodils and tulips blooming. It was so welcome after a dreary brown winter. Stupidly I forgot to post about them though. Can’t wait to see the progress on your project. Have a wonderful weekend!
I think I know what it is! But I don’t want to spoil the surprise for everyone else.
Violet is so silly!
Ooooo, a fun new project. And I think Violet is perfect.
Our daffodils bloomed early and then got covered with a foot of snow. But they’re hardy and proudly stood their ground! Once the snow melted, even more bloomed and we’ve had a garden full of large and mini daffodils for a couple of weeks now. We even saw a couple of deep purple rogue crocuses mixed in that we never planted! 🙂
I think it was last spring, or maybe our first one here, when I had photos of snow on the daffodils. They do hold up well!
I thought I had some crocuses last year, but haven’t seen them again. I’ll have to plant some this fall.
the guinea guys are funny wall decorations… they are even entertainers when they junst hang around LOL
They never stop entertaining, that’s for sure!
Those daffs will open up one of these days! I have no clue what the special project could be, but it’ll be fun to see what it is 🙂
Hmmm…we have two ideas, but I guess we will have to wait to see. Have a great weekend.
