As far as farm dog Luke is concerned, there is nothing better than the first bean of the season!

This year the yellow beans are coming first; I planted a different variety of green beans so they are behind (which is actually a good thing so we’re not overloaded all at once!).

We’ve also been harvesting cucumbers (one of the few vegetables Luke does not like), lettuce, and some summer squash. Fresh cucumbers are probably my favorite, I can barely eat a supermarket cucumber in the winter.

Another reason to love summer so much!

I might try yellow beans with Jaxson. They weren’t fond of the green beans after a while, maybe a difference color will excite them LOL
You never know with dogs, right?? 🙂
Such a healthy snack
Our Luke is a health nut! LOL
We have never grown beans but did grow cucumbers. I even made pickles. It only happened one year. hahahah!
Making pickles is a lot of work! I only make “refrigerator pickles” which are easier, but don’t last as long. So I get that! 🙂
We’ve had three ‘harvests’ of our little green bean patch in the raised planter on the patio. YUM!
Not sure if either pup like them, but they do love cucumbers, BOL!
We have had a few cherry tomatoes to munch in our salads, too, and plenty of baby beet, kale and mesclun mix salads…so yummy and fresh. All from patio pots and the two raised planter boxes.
Wow, so many goodies! Great job, planters and raised boxes are definitely a great way to do it.
Garden fresh veggies are the very best! I love all the varieties of beans. Colorful too. Love your photos. Happy Wordless Wednesday and enjoy your weekend. HUGS across the miles.
Thank you so much, HUGS back to you!!
What a happy boy!
I love making him happy. ♥
It sounds like cukes should be in a future garden for me! I am going to have tons and tons more sun in the future. So, cukes might work. I’m glad to have your say that garden ones are so much better!
Oh yes, there really is no comparison. Our crop is doing better than ever this year too, I’m so happy about that.
You are a lucky boy Luke.
He knows it. ♥
Chow down, Luke!
That sure looks good Luke! Fresh veggies are the best!!!
Ooh yum, fresh beans are so tasty! For peeps and pets.
We’re all fans here!
Yummy!! I love fresh beans! Ducky is another story. But we have a small grocery store nearby that has a large, stationary cart where local farmers can sell their fresh veggies. And I need to get over there today!
I love that you support your local farmers! 🙂
I agree, fresh from the garden is most delicious and far better than store bought veggies. The best part of this post is getting to see Luke.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Smooches to Luke. ♥
Luke sends smooches back! ♥
You are full of beans, Luke, LOL! No one will go near a bean at our house, including Mom, so they are all for you guys. Enjoy.
Are you sure? We’d be happy to share! Hee hee
I agree about supermarket cucumbers in winter. They are so bitter!
It’s quite a coincidence but just 5 minutes ago I had an email from our local fruit and veg deliveries saying they have now got the first green beans in. Everything is grown within 20 miles so always good and fresh.
Good for you that you have that. Enjoy!!
yummmmmmmm. Veges are good for you, Luke, and I love just about all of them! Enjoy your bean!
Me and you are so alike, Molly! 🙂
Love, Luke
