Happy Halloween

October 30, 2012 By Jan 10 Comments

This is the scariest Halloween photo I could find of one of my dogs.  OK, I know, Sheba is wearing an elf hat.  Yes, it actually is a photo from Christmas.  However, the expression on her face represents how all of my dogs feel about any kind of “dress up”.  The elf hats were a bust, so Halloween costumes have never even be tried.  I look longingly at all the cute photos of … [Read more...]

Let’s Put an End to Puppy Mills: Part 3/What Can Individuals Do?

October 27, 2012 By Jan 6 Comments

This will be the first in a series of posts on the subject of puppy mills. There is so much information to be covered; I couldn’t possibly do it in one post!  I need to do a lot more research to get it all out here.  My purpose is to make more people aware of this problem, so we can all join together to put an end to it. What exactly is considered a puppy mill?  Puppy mills … [Read more...]

The Rules of the Game

October 17, 2012 By Jan 7 Comments

My dogs love to play fetch with the ball.  Three out of four of them anyway….our oldest beagle, Kobi, is not interested….he is strictly a couch potato now (though he loves his walks).  Strangely enough, the little beagle, Cricket, loves fetch as much as the golden retrievers.  In fact, she is much better at it than they are.  She knows what RETRIEVE means better than they do.  … [Read more...]
