….the Guinea Hens are back in Luke’s yard again! Once the snow is gone and the ground is clear, the guinea hens just can’t stay out of Luke’s fenced-in yard! Now poor Luke has to get the “all clear” before he’s allowed out into his own yard (even though he swears he just wants to play with them). It’s not always easy being a farm dog!

Happy Earth Day!
In keeping with this year’s theme “Protect Our Species”, we wanted to encourage everyone to stop using pesticides and herbicides, and plant some bee-friendly flowers in your yard!
Thank you to our friends at Comedy Plus for hosting the Awww Mondays blog hop! Please visit them and other blogs through the links below.
They are just taunting you aren’t they Luke!1 I had a kitty in our yard earlier today and it took efurything in me not to get him/her buts I was good…(sigh) We just planted lots of flowers fur da bees, butterflies and humming birds so now we wait fur them to come and visit 😉 Daddy also planted some tomoto plants and peppers so we are crossing all the paws dat da squirrels don’t try to eat them all.
xoxo,
Matt & Matilda
What a good boy you were, Matt!!
That is so great you have lots of things planted already, the visitors should be there soon!
Happy Spring. I love your guinea hens!!! One day I will get some again.
I hope you do!!
Having to learn to share the yard -yeah, not easy!! Especially when the Guineas have all that other yard they could use! So glad to see you mention the bees, For sure would be awesome if more people planted things they could thrive on.
That guinea hen is sitting up there and mocking poor Luke! It’ll be your turn eventually, Luke!
Poor Luke. I know you just want to play 🙂
They’re just big stuffed toys as far as he’s concerned!!
I’d love to see what my little pups would do with the hens 🙂
Happy Earth Day!
Our beagle Cricket ignored them completely! She could be right out in the yard with them, and did not care one bit. 🙂
I think the birds would be happy if they had a dog who would play with them (in a nice way, not how Luke does it!). When I let Luke out into the yard they’ll come running right up to the fence to see him!
Wonderful photos of the guinea hens and Luke! I promise not to use chemicals in my yard – EVER! Happy Earth Day all!
Thank you!! ♥
Oh no, Luke! The things you have to put up with. Well, at least it’s spring. 🙂
It’s still better than winter, no matter what happens!
Happy Earth Day! Guineas simply don’t look as if they should be able to get their big bodies off the ground. LOL!
I know, and they are so goofy…but sometimes when they fly they are very smooth and soar, and it’s fun to watch.
Glad it finally made it your way! My sister is in Littleton and I think they got over a foot of snow, like last weekend or something!
I do hope Luke gets some yard time.
That makes us very happy to be just a little further south! We don’t let the guineas out of their pen until late morning, so Luke has free run of it at least all morning!
Happy Earth day and happy spring too.
Luke, tell your mom to link to Awww Mondays. Just saying.
Have a woof woof day. My best to your mom. ♥
I have to keep reminding her!! 🙂
Oh hooray for almost no snow and double hooray for Spring on the farm!
Happy Earth Day! 🌎Hopefully this year’s newest garden plants will entice more of those guys, or at least give them an extra nice lunch buffet.
We have plenty of their favorites around here, so we hope so!!
Ah, it’s Spring! The time when a guinea hen’s fancy turns to …. taking over Luke’s yard! LOL. Watch out Luke… they may peck at your head.
Happy Earth Day!!!
He doesn’t seem too worried about that! LOL
Poor Luke, the farm dog life does have it’s challenges.
At least he gets to enjoy all those fresh eggs. 🙂
the look of this hen on it’s “watchtower” LOL… happy earth day to you all
They do love to get up high and enjoy the view!
I see you still have that nice pile of snow against your house. I’m sure it will be melting off soon. You need to put a no trespassing sign on your area of the yard to keep those nosy chickens out of there!
There is a “beware of dog” sign, but those crazy birds ignore it!!
I would love to chase after your Guinea hens too, Luke!
We could have so much fun, Molly!!
Love, Luke
