You know what shadows on snow means, right? We finally saw some sunshine!! It wasn’t out all day, but it shone on me and Luke when we took our morning walk a couple days ago. A little rain and warmth finally melted all the snow out of the trees, so it’s not nearly as beautiful in the woods as it was (it is still quite pretty though). So we thought we’d take some shadow photos instead.

While we haven’t had any fully sunny days yet, we’ve been seeing more of the sun lately, so we’ll take it. It’s not just me and Luke who were excited about the sunshine:

The sun even shone on our garden and our new crosses.

I love shadows on snow, and you and Luke were making some great ones! I’m so glad that you’ve seen the sun recently. 🙂
It has helped lift my mood some, that’s for sure!
Nice pics. As someone who lives where we never get snow, I always appreciate stuff like this.
It’s sometimes better enjoyed from a distance. LOL
I love snow shadows! And I love your pix of them. Like Madison, I wonder how you keep up with all the birds! I have a hard enough time keeping up with Shadow and Ducky! 🤣
We honestly don’t always know where they all are, but they all came back in the evening for bed time! 🙂
Those shadows are exquisite.
The sun was quite bright that day, which really helped a lot! We’ve been getting more sunshine since, but it’s often a bit muted by high clouds.
That is beautiful snow in your woods. I wish I loved cold weather but it hurts my arthritis too much. It’s really peaceful looking. Luke’s head looks like a greyhound in that one pic! LOL!
Yes, a greyhound, that’s what it is! It’s a good thing you don’t live in the North then, you’re in the perfect place to help with your arthritis.
Those are great shadow photos.
Thank you, Ellen!
What lovely shadows1 So glad you are seeing some sun. We don’t get much snow, but this time of year we also are stuck with clouds and rain. Here to taking the sun when you can get it :-)!
We’ve been getting a lot more of it lately, and even though that means it’s been colder, we’ll take it!
LOVE those crosses. Funny that all the birds ended up by the porch. Maybe they were visiting grandma Sam?
She would have enjoyed sunbathing with them! 🙂
Cool snow shadows! We hope the sun returns for you.
It’s been out a lot lately, we’re so happy!
Those are such great photos and the shadows are amazing…and fun too!
It definitely made for some different and fun photos!
I love snow shadows. Really there’s nothing better than cold crisp sunny morning! We have the cold and the sunshine but no snow.
To me, the snow often makes it feel warmer. But this morning it was a bit too cold on Luke’s paws, so we had to cut our walk short. 🙁
I love sun shine, so glad you finally saw some.
Plus we’ve been seeing it a lot lately!! Of course, we have to pay with colder temperatures, but that’s OK. 🙂
wow you have a walking companion… sometimes he is next to you and sometimes in front of you…is that a race? Luke vs. Shadow… who wins? ;o)
I don’t know….but Momz loses when she gets dragged along for that race! BOL
Our sunshine finally came out again yesterday and I think it will be appearing more often again. The snow makes it brighter even without sun, but sun feels so good. Love those chickens everywhere. We can’t imagine trying to keep track of them all.
It’s pretty impossible to keep track of them, though this time of year it’s a bit easier, since they don’t venture out into the snowy areas much. They’re mostly found in the barn, garage, or on the front porch!
