Despite Mother Nature’s best attempts to put a damper on Sheba and Luke’s birthday week, I think they had a good time. You’ve seen some of the birthday highlights over the last few days, but not that it has been cold, windy, dreary, and rainy here ever since Sheba’s birthday on Tuesday! Spending time outdoors is important to us all the time, and especially for birthdays. Mother Nature is not invited to any more birthdays unless she promises to bring some sunshine next time.
We tried not to let it slow us down though. We still got some walks in, and play time in the yard in between showers. Sheba had an especially nice walk on her birthday. We met one of our neighbors and he gave her lots of praise and attention which she loves. I was bundled up like it was the middle of winter, and we got snowed and sleeted on when headed back home. I didn’t love any of that, but the birthday girl didn’t mind.
On Luke’s birthday it was dry in the morning so we got out in the yard for play time. Cricket even joined us for just a little ball play! We spent the afternoon working on our photos for the Pet Treater review, which meant lots of treats and toys, so that was enjoyed as well.
Luke got the toys from the Pet Treater box, but that was not enough for him, so I also had to get out the toys I had bought for him! He was wound up like any child on their birthday, and was going strong right into the late evening. It’s been a while since he’s really worn me out, but I think that’s because up until this last week we’ve had so much nice weather. He definitely has extra energy when we’re stuck inside more.

Then of course there were special meals for each birthday with special kibble toppers – Beef Stew from Wellness* and Oracle from Dr. Harvey’s*. You saw the cheesecakes I made in our review post, but you didn’t see the final product:

So, to recap…..walks, play time, toys, special meals and desserts……and of course, we can’t forget the Bowser Beer*, which was a big hit!

I think we succeeded in making this year’s birthdays very happy, even without Mother Nature’s help!

Snow?! Sleet?! I’m not ready for that yet! I’m glad that you were able to enjoy everyone’s birthday despite the weather 🙂
Our forecast for the week is looking warm, so it looks like we won’t be seeing any of those “s” words for a little while now. Hope it’s the same for you!
The cheesecakes look super yummy.
They look good enough for humans to eat, right? Somehow I suspect they wouldn’t taste quite the same though. 🙂
looks like you didn’t let mother nature get you down. What a fabulous time. the dessert looks great
Sorry the weather hasn’t been cooperating for your birthday celebrations. We are still having 60/70 degree days even in November, but it is raining today. Belated birthday wishes to Sheba and Luke. Love Dolly
Thank you, Dolly! We’ve been getting more and more rain and lots of clouds, but the week coming up looks clear and even a little bit warmer. Of course, with the clocks going back we won’t get to enjoy it as much!
I know they had a great time on their birthdays. Lots of toys and treats make it great. I love the cheesecakes!
Oh, that’s a great birthday week for Sheba and Luke, just awesome really! Indeed, in spite of Mother Nature! And worse is that the weathermen keep Promising us a little warmer, at least a little more sunshine-NOT! That sun just can’t make it out, has seemed more like Nov than Oct. We needed the rain we got, but in between, some sun would be nice! Maggie and Bear were napping on Luke’s birthday, to not speak to Mother Nature about that! 🙂
Usually Maggie and Bear do better! But we probably wouldn’t even have Luke if not for them, so that’s OK. 🙂 We were just saying how it seems like November already. I guess we should be happy we got through October with no snow accumulation though – just a few flurries! Plus it’s hard to complain about the rain when we’ve needed it so much. Even today we’re supposed to have sun and it’s just barely peeking through!
It looks like you all made the best of it and had a great time!
Awww they had a pawesome celebration and those desserts look amazing!!! So happy!
Well at least you had some good weather, and you were able to spend time with your pups, so that’s always a plus.
Yup, it’s always good to spend time with the pups, no matter what the weather!

Looks like a fun celebration. Wish my dogs liked cameras
Happy Halloween
Lily & Edward
We hope you guys had a fun Halloween! It was pretty quiet here, which is just how we like it. 🙂
Sometimes we just have to change our perceptions.
Ducky has loads more energy when bad weather keeps us indoors, as well. And she about drives us nuts! ????
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! ????????????
Yup, I know what that’s like! Luke just has days where he WILL NOT STOP. LOL. He gets bored with the old toys, and expects me to have an endless supply of new ones. I even try hiding old ones and bringing them out as new ones but he’s not fooled! 🙂
Nothing stops a good pawty!
Looks like you had a great time even in spite of the weather. Loved the pics!!!
Great pictures of everyone having a great time!
Glad in spite the weather you were able to celebrate!
