The Wag ‘n Woof mobile will be hitting the road early Saturday morning, for a mini-vacation to Myrtle Beach where we’ll be attending the BlogPaws pet blogger conference next week!
“Auntie” Sheryl, who also joined me for a road trip to Nashville two years ago, will be joining me again. We are both very excited. Our approximately 17 hour, 1,000 mile trip will take us through Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. We’re taking a bit of a roundabout route on the way down, to avoid some of the bigger cities. We hope to get a majority of the trip done in the first day, so we can relax and take our time a bit more on the second, maybe even stop to see some sights if we pass anything interesting.

Our stay in Myrtle Beach will start on Sunday night where we’ll be staying at the conference motel, the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel. It’s within sight of the ocean, so it will hopefully only be a short walk to get to the beach!
Many bloggers bring their pets to this conference, but my crew just aren’t road-trippers, so they’ll be staying home with the Dadz.
I’m going to miss these snuggles…..
…..and this sweet face for weekend morning toy time.
Samantha – I mean, Dad – will be taking care of the furry and now feathery crew!

As we join the Thankful Thursday blog hop today, I am especially thankful for a few things:
- The opportunity from BlogPaws to attend a conference where I can learn and grow as a blogger. With our current situation I especially need to learn ways I can make more money doing this. On top of the educational opportunities, I’ll get to see old blog friends I met at the previous conference, and I’ll also be meeting some new ones in person that weren’t at that one! I can’t wait.
- We probably wouldn’t make a trip like this if not for the conference. We’ve had some tough times lately, and we really need this getaway.
- My great friend who is willing to do this with me for a second time! We had so much fun going to Nashville, so we are going to have a blast again.
- A loving hubby who is willing to stay home and hold down the farm!
I’ll schedule some posts for the blog next week before I go, and will hopefully have a couple updates from the road as well. You can also follow us on social media to see what we’re up to (links to follow in the upper right corner above). Bloggers, be sure to comment below if you’re attending, so I can be sure to look for you!

Get out you’ve got personalized plates for your blog? Mom is SO jealous! Love Dolly
Yes, I love them! Your Mom should get some that say “DollyD”. 🙂
I was kind of able to follow your trip on Facebook. 🙂
Jan K. – you can cuddle all you want to with the Boys LOL
See you on Thursday.
Yay, thanks, Cathy, can’t wait to see you all! 🙂
It sounds like you have a wonderful trip planned! I’m sad to report that I’ll miss this year (broken leg isn’t quite healed up yet), but I’ll be following along from home. Be sure to post updates!
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie
I’m so sorry you won’t be able to make it – I will do my best to post some updates!
Safe travels, and have a great time, Jan and Sheryl! Enjoy yourselves, find some relaxing time-have fun!!
How exciting – we can’t wait to see you there. Safe and happy travels!
I sometimes think seeing old friends and meeting new ones, and the opportunity to network are the best bits of the conference. 😉
That sounds like such fun! I look forward to reading all about it!
Have a great trip, we wouldn’t let our purrson go so she is green with jellies.
Your purrson can live vicariously through us – we’ll do our best to share our experience! 🙂
That is purrfect, that way she is here to feed us, pet us, and open doors for us.
Super exciting!!!! Have a wonderful trip!!!
Have a great trip!
I will be living vicariously through y’all next week. It is so hard not to attend this year. I hate when life gets in the way. LOL! Have a blast, learn a lot and have a safe trip. ♥
Have a blast!
snorts,
Lily & Edward
Safe travels! I will be there Wednesday-Saturday. Hope to get a chance to say hi to you in person! 🙂
Let’s definitely look for each other!!
Have a safe, safe road trip to the beach. The Dad will be there too so he will try to find you. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We will definitely be looking for your Dad! I hope I’m not so nervous I call him “Brian” – LOL!
Have a pawsome and safe trip! We’re looking forward to woofs from the road.
Be safe, have fun!!!
Have fun. We cancelled. With a big nose work trial the next three days and Mom’s business going gang busters we just can’t be on the road for hours at a time or gone for a week. We really wanted to see everyone and experience Myrtle Beach, but it won’t happen this year. Mom says we’ll travel more for dog sports instead and we are fine with that too.
Oh no, I’m so disappointed that you won’t be going after all! I understand how busy the nose works and your Mom’s business must be keeping you though. Glad to hear her business is doing well too! We’ll miss you.
Safe travels! The mom is still up in the air about going. If she does, it will be for a shorter time…maybe just Fri-Sun. If she’s there, she can’t wait to see you again.
I hope she makes it, and I’ll be looking for her!
Have fun Momz and Auntie Sheryl!
I wish I could go! Have a wonderful time. I’m looking forward to hearing all about it.
I’m glad you’re going to Myrtle Beach for the conference, Jan! You really need this mini vacation! I wish I could go, too; but I can’t. I’m sure you and Sheryl will have a great time. I’ll ask Callie to watch over you and my other friends who are making the trip. I’m sure Sheba will be watching over her Momz and “Auntie Sheryl” too! I’ll keep an eye on FB and Twitter for your updates.
Safe travels!! And love, hugs, and kisses to you and the crew from all of us little acorns.
Callie and Sheba did a good job watching over us and getting here safely! I wish you had been on the way, Sue. (we got over to 95 in our travels today). It was a LONG trip though, and we were so tired of driving by the time we got here! But it felt so good to finally get here and we walked down to the ocean to stretch our legs and breath in the salt air.
Hugs to all of you!
oh a lot of good thoughts and hugs will travel with you…. have a wonderful time !!! and I hope you can take a lot of photos…
