We got out Luke’s tunnel this week, and he was happy to run through it right away. He was so excited, in fact, he had to make up a mini obstacle course to go along with it. Watch the short video to see what he came up with, all on his own. I love how he simply makes his own fun!
Hope you make your own fun this weekend too!
Looks like the Tunnel gave Luke a case of the zoomies! I love how he stopped to dig a hole.
I think digging is one of his favorite ways to burn off some energy!
BOL dat are some obstacle course Luke!

Goooooo Luke! Show us how to do spring right! Have fun for all of us!
We should all run around making our own fun, right? 🙂
Luke you are a fun guy! My puppies always love the tunnels.
Pawsome zoomies!
How cute! It looks like he had a blast. I’m waiting for our yard to dry out enough that we can get our tunnel out for the first time this year.
Oh my gosh, I saw those photos of your yard on Instagram – that’s crazy! It’s actually gotten really dry here lately. Today is raining and we really needed it! Hope you’re drying out now!
I suppose without his sisters, he’s learning to play by himself. Of course, I bet the fowl help at times. I can’t think of “obstacle course” without thinking of my nephew who told my sister-in-law he was making an obstacle course and proceeded to dump over all the shelves and bins of toys. There was not one patch of carpet showing. She not only got an “obstacle course” but a headache too!
Oh boy! I’m glad Luke keeps it more low key. 🙂
He does like to chase the birds along the fence, and they really don’t seem to mind! We just make sure we’re out there to be sure the birds stay on their own side of the fence where it’s safe from the crazy dog!
Fun!!
What fun! Luke is his own Ninja Warrior.
🙂
Cute video 🙂 You are quite the digger Luke.
He loves to dig! My hubby hates it, but I think if he’s having fun it’s pretty harmless (it’s nice this latest hole is under the tree where we don’t walk though!).
Oh Luke, we sure enjoyed seeing you have such a fun time pal!!!
Ducky gets a case of the zoomies outside whenever she’s been cooped-up in the house because of bad weather. The Dog-Daddy and I just laugh til our sides ache, and poor Shadow has to be careful not to get in the way. Luke looks like he’s having as much fun running his obstacle course as Ducky always does in the back yard.
Watching the video has convinced me that I need to get Ducky a longer, higher-quality tunnel. Any suggestions on particular brands to go with/stay away from? I need to get some other stuff, too, but it can wait a couple more weeks.
You might remember Cricket would snarl at Luke sometimes if he tried to involve her in his antics – LOL! She also thought staying out of the way was the best option.
Here is a (affliate) link to the tunnel I have: https://amzn.to/2IlsoaL. We used to have a short tunnel too, but the long one is definitely more fun for them.
This one is good quality as long as you secure it well when it’s windy (I had to use different stakes to hold it in the ground than the ones that came with it). Our last one finally wore out, but I left it out in the rain all the time too. So far the new one is holding up well, last year I put it away in bad weather, but this year I’ve been leaving it out again.
That is so funny! He is getting lots of exercise and enjoying himself!
It’s hard to entertain him sometimes, so great when he does this on his own!
you are right,…. they must be twins… Phenny digs a hole too when he is in action… wonder why they do that , is it too much energy what has to go away before they run again?
I think that is it, along with the fact that digging is just fun!
That does look like fun, Luke! Layla does that in the house when she gets excited. Down the stairs, up the stairs, spin in circles, grab a toy, jump over the sofa!! It’s a wonder the whole house isn’t broken. 🙂
Luke does it indoors too, but luckily he mostly limits it to running up and down the hallway, not risking much destruction. 🙂
I’m sure it is different for him creating fun on his own, but I bet he loves all the attention being just on him. Gotta always love some good tunnel time!
I know he must miss his sister(s), but I do think he loves all the individual attention too. Cricket didn’t play with him much anyway, so he had already learned how to make his own fun (though sometimes the humans do have to get involved!).
