It’s so much fun to watch “the girls” scratching in the leaves and dirt looking for goodies! They have a routine: scratch, scratch, then the beak goes down to see if they turned up anything good! I like to find and collect old bottles and interesting things around our property, so I’m always telling them to “dig me up something good!”. I think their version and mine of “something good” might be quite different, however! π

Maybe they will find some gold fur ya π

We’ll keep hoping!!! π
Darn chickens, they should be finding you the goods!
Eggs are nice, but treasure would be better! LOL
That is cute. Maybe one day they will surprise you. I bet it would be fun to go metal detecting on your property.
We talk about borrowing or renting one all the time. One of these days we’ll do it!
Chickens! Have you ever seen Ludo, the chicken that lives at the Cat House in Aleppo? She actually eats chicken and eggs too. It’s so funny. I’m gonna tag you on FB since I don’t want to link here.
Thanks for tagging me…that was too funny! But I have read of people making scrambled eggs for their chickens, but not actually eating chicken!!
We hope they found some great buried treasure!
If you call worms treasure, which they do, then yes! π
What a couple of cuties!
Such good girls – enjoy!
Did you find anything really good, girls?!
If they do, they like to run away with it, and then everyone wants it! LOL
We used to have chickens when I was growing up and they are most fun to watch. My mother always had a couple of them that would follow her around for lovies. So cute.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. β₯
Every day it amazes me what social birds they are!
They’re like a feathered Geiger Counter!
Yes they are!! Good one!
Don’t think they’ll make it to China though. π€£ Like Madison said, maybe they’ll find something “tasty”.
Ducky likes to dig at the “crater” in our yard where Callie and Shadow’s doghouse used to stand. (I’m glad we took it down while Callie was still with us. Just the thought of Callie sitting on its porch is choking me up.)
A doghouse with a porch, now that sounds fun, and I can just picture Callie sitting on it. β₯
maybe you can find sone golden corns?
Golden COINS? Now you’re talking!! π
The early bird gets the worm!
Don’t they know it!! Worms are a real treasure for them! π
That seems like a lot of work for the chickens, but I guess they don’t have anything else to do. Maybe they will find something real tasty!
You are absolutely right, other than laying eggs, which only takes a few minutes out of their day, they don’t have much else to do! π
