This is why I love summer:
I got to go for my first real swim of the season today (standing in the kiddie pool doesn’t count)! The Momz and I walked down the rail trail and stopped at the river so I could take a swim. Momz let me off leash and everything. I was a very good girl and always went right back to Momz when I got out of the water (that was in order to shake on her – BOL).
Momz forgot to bring a ball for me, but guess what?
One came flying into the river, from heaven I think!
OK, Momz says no, it came from here:
There was a lot going on at the park, and they were playing softball. They didn’t come to get their ball, so Momz threw it for me a few times, and then threw it back across the river to the fields so they could get it back.
There was a man sitting on the bridge resting from his bike ride watching us and the people in the park playing. He probably thinks Momz is a crazy dog lady because she was talking to me the whole time. She promised we would do this walk more often, but we might have to bring Luke & Cricket sometimes too. She thinks this is the perfect workout for me with my arthritis (she’ll tell you more about that next FitDog Friday post). Plus Momz and Dadz are on vacation week after next, and we’re going to take a day trip somewhere where we can walk/hike and swim, and we’ll have a picnic too! I can’t wait!
Happy Sepia Saturday, everyone!
We are joining Ruckus the Eskie for his Sepia Saturday blog hop today. The only rules for this hop are that it be sepia related (pet or non-pet), and have fun! Grab the badge, link to the host, and join in the fun!
Great pictures! Sheba must be so happy it is swimming season again!
Thank you!! She sure is!
Looks like a great place to go for a dip! (and play find new toys, apparently)
Any place with swimming and toys is aces in Sheba’s book!
Looks like a ton of fun! Love the pictures. Amazing that a ball found you…lol.
Thanks! If you wish for it, it will come? Or something like that?
Oh what super fun and balls from Heaven, it sure can’t get any better. xxxoxxx
Mollie and Alfie
It sure can’t!!

Beautiful adventure and pictures. I just love summer also for the water play!
Thank you! It’s not a long season for a lot of us so we have to enjoy it while we can, right?….it’s been pretty warm earlier than usual here too.
Looks like you had a great time in the water! We think the ball was from Heaven too….well, that’s what we would like to think!
This crew thinks all balls come from heaven!
What a exciting workout! Hope you had a good Sepia Saturday!
We did, thank you, Ruckus, we hope you had a great one as well!
What a great outing for you and mom…alone. Sometimes it’s nice to have that alone time with mom isn’t it. The river looks great.
I sure like to have all of Mom’s attention sometimes, especially since my puppy brother demands so much of it all the time! But now he’s getting older Mom doesn’t mind leaving him back home with Cricket so much (plus Dad was home this day too and he had already taken Luke for a run to wear him out).
What a pretty place to walk and swim. My girl LOVES to swim as well.
It’s nice to have that close by, though the river sometimes gets too low in the summer for a real swim. I hope you have someplace you can take your girl to swim too!
Aw how great you got to have your first swim of the year!!! Those photos sure look like you had a ton of fun!!! That is so funny that mom forgot your ball, and then a baseball land right there!!!! Now that is a sign! hahaha!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Yeah, Mom was “saved by the ball” BOLBOL! Next time maybe she’ll remember, because I’m sure she won’t always get that lucky!
Hope you are all having a great weekend too!
Love, Sheba
What a fun place to be able to go swim. It looks like you had a great time. I think there is something wrong with a person that doesn’t talk to their dog! BOL!
I know, right? Our Mom and Dad can’t imagine not talking to us all the time! We listen to them better than most people do, right? We are lucky to have the river pretty close by (it’s actually about a mile to that spot). We have some other places we swim but we have to go for a car ride to get to those.
Love, Sheba
Hi Y’all!
Looks like you had a wonderful day! Hope your Mom didn’t mind people thinkin’ she was a crazy dog lady…I like it when my Humans talk to me…I’d hate it if they ever stopped!
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Hi Hawk!
We had so much fun, and nope, Mom doesn’t care if people thinks she’s crazy. I love when she talks to me too, and we know it means they love us!
Love, Sheba
I love to swim too and my mom talks to us all the time too. People most likely think she is nuts, but who cares 😉 Glad you had such a great time!
Thanks, Emma! Yeah, we don’t care if people think our Moms are nuts, as long as they keep doing fun things with us!
Love, Sheba
