I promised myself I’d stop writing about nothing but the weather all the time! So we won’t talk about that sleet underneath Luke’s feet in this photo, the fact that it was 32 degrees and windy when we took that walk, or the fact that it’s snowing as I write this Tuesday evening (then the sun came out as I was finishing up!). π
Instead, we’ll talk about Luke’s beautiful brown eyes (not that we haven’t covered that subject before either!). I always call him my “brown-eyed boy”, in reference to the old Van Morrison song, “Brown-Eyed Girl” from 1967. Yikes, was it really that long ago? That got me wondering if I’d used that as a blog title in the past, and looking back I did find a post “Brown Eyed Boy on B&W Sunday” with this photo:
Ironically that post was from close to 4 years ago to date (4/5/2015). What do you think? Does Luke look more mature now? He would have only been just over a year old in that photo. It just goes to show he was, and always will be, my brown-eyed boy! “Do you remember when….we used to sing…..”Β I’ll spare you the rest of the lyrics that are simply a long string of sha la la’s. I sing that to him all the time!
Do you ever sing to your pets?

I don’t think Luke has aged enough to say so! Really! “My brown eyed boy, shalalalalalalalalalalala my brown eyed boy, do you remember when, we used to sing, shalalalala…..there ,I put some in for you Jan!
You forgot the “la te da” at the end, Lynn. LOL
Yes, Luke is still just a young boy, and he certainly doesn’t act very mature most of the time either! π
Luke hasn’t aged a bit. He looks like your brown-eyed puppy in both photos! Shyla is the only being on earth who loves my singing (she wags like.crazy when I sing to her!).
I think Luke is the only dog who has ever liked my singing. The others used to just look at me like I was crazy. LOL
I do sing to my cats. Millie has his own lullaby before bed. π
That is so sweet! β₯
Lovely photo of those trusting eyes.

You are as handsome as ever, Luke!

Awww, what a sweet little boy! Yup, I too sing to my pups and surprisingly, they don’t howl back. Maybe they’re Queen fans too?
Could be! Seriously, some dogs do recognize music I think. Luke will come running from the other end of the house when he hears the music from a certain ad on the TV – when the news shares a local shelter animal!
Sing to Daisy Mae all the time. Hope you get some sun.
We finally have some!!
I remember that song too. It was a long time ago. Now that song is stuck in my head.
Luke is a handsome pup. Brown eyes and all.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Scritches to the handsome Luke. β₯
I’m always wary of dating myself….but it’s good to know I’m not alone out here in my age group. π
Too late, ear worm actified ;-). He does have the prettiest brown eyes!!
You’re welcome! Hee hee.
Luke has matured handsomely! Love those eyes!
As for singing? My song for Ducky has always been “Devil or Angel” – released by Bobby Vee in January 1956, before I even knew what a radio was, but I’ve always loved the oldies music stations – because it fit her so well. Especially when Callie and Shadow were both still with us.
I’m not sure if I know that song or not, but would probably recognize it if I heard it. π
He still looks like a fun loving puppy. His eyes are beautiful.
He definitely still acts like a young boy! π
Like does look younger but he still has a puppy look. What a handsome brown eyed boy!
Luke not like! LOL!!
Darn typos, right! Luke is definitely young at heart, no matter what.
You look wonderful and most handsome Luke! Hey, my Thankful Thursday is about the weather, I couldn’t help myself!
It’s really a subject that simply can’t be avoided. π
It’s that time of year when the weather is so wacky…you can’t help but talk about it. Like tonight…we’re supposed to get snow. Yuck.
I think we’ve had cold, snow, sleet, cold wind, then finally sunshine and warmth all in less than a week!
there is more canine wisdom in his eyes he is a wonderful boy… we don’t talk about the weather either… yesterday sun and today siberia…sigh…
Mother Nature does like to keep us guessing!
You look a bit more mature these days, Luke. My mom rarely sings, but she does like to talk to us a lot. We have brown eyes too, but Emma had gorgeous brown eyes and Mom would always talk about her beautiful browns.
I think most dogs, other than certain breeds like huskies, have brown eyes? But some are just more distinctive than others; like Emma and Luke. β₯
