FINALLY! After the last week of snow, sleet, rain, cold and raw temperatures, we were getting ready to give up that spring would ever really arrive. On Sunday morning we finally started to see blue sky and sunshine, and it was a gorgeous day.

Even though the K9 crew loves the snow, they are happy for spring as well. They know we’ll spend more time outside when I don’t have to bundle up every time we head outdoors. Besides, there’s still snow left to play in!

Luke’s play technique is a bit different than Cricket’s – he sometimes enjoys just lying in the sun with his ball.
We played until we had Cricket’s tongue hanging out!

Then the crew took a break while I did some raking in my flower garden. Luke kept an eye on me, and Cricket made sure I saw she still had her ball – she was not ready to quit!
After some raking, I explored the yard a bit to add to my bottle collection. Our contractor started this collection for me when they were cutting trees along one of the old stone walls. I found two more bottles! These beauties will get cleaned up and line a shelf in our barn/farmstand. I love exploring the yard for old treasures, and we’ll be spending more time doing that this spring.
While many others have been sharing photos of their first yellow daffodils of the season, this is all we have to show of ours.
That’s OK, we’re just happy to see anything green! The nice weather is supposed to continue all week, so we should have our own flowers to show soon enough. Cricket got to play some more ball in the afternoon, and later in the day she and Luke were both passed out indoors. All that fresh air and sunshine wore them right out!
I think Spring is finally here. It was so warm at our cabin that we ate dinner on our porch. Then I see my FB memories showing snow in past years. I bet the early Spring means lots of bugs, but at least we had none this weekend. Cool bottle collection.
My daffodils are just starting to bloom, and I also saw photos from last year where they had snow on them!
So far, so good with the bugs here too, but I’m sure they’ll be here, and in swarms, any minute now….especially with another warm week coming up (this week has been cooler).
This is probably your last snow fall of the season. Now you can get ready for Spring. Weather is already warm here, I have no doubt your temp’s will increase rapidly.
The first signs of spring always breathe new life into a winter weary soul. Congrats on finding new bottles. They are very cool!
Your snow pile looks like its on the north side of the house, good luck having that melt by June. But yes spring has sprung here too along with a lot of rain! Love Dolly
You are right about the snow pile being on the north, and also probably right that we might have it until June! We’re getting rain again now too, but that’s OK, we actually had 3 days of beautiful weather!
So glad you are finally getting some spring sunshine! Nothing like the combination of fresh air and warm sunshine to tire out a pup – young, old, or anywhere in-between!! Ducky and Shadow spent most of the day in the yard yesterday and “crashed” on the dog beds before and after dinner. Happy, tired pups. ❤️????
Today it was in the 70’s, so we had a short walk this morning (too muddy to walk too far yet), then ball play in the yard, and later we did some nose works! I’m not sure who’s more tired….the dogs or me. 🙂
I hope the nice weather continues, it’s nice to get out in the sun with the dogs.
The dogs even enjoy just sitting out on the deck with us! I think we’ve turned the corner, although I’m sure we’ll still get some colder spells here and there for a while.
You all sound and look so happy. Happy springtime play!
Yes, yay, that’s all I need to say!!
Yes, we’re finally having some good weather too! We got to have the windows opened! So how long does it take for the mountain of snow to disappear??
Yay for open windows! There’s nothing like that fresh air, is there?
We don’t know about snow mountain. Last spring was our first spring in this house, and we had very little snow then. But I think it will be a while…that side of the house just does not get a lot of sun, so it’s going to go very slowly. I was actually shoveling some of that snow out of there today, in hopes it would melt faster that way! 🙂
Winter is always our favorite time of year, but after a few months, it does get a bit boring. We are happy to have the new smells of spring, and Madison discovered the garden hose yesterday and how it sprays out water. She was totally fascinated. Today we are back to cold with snow flurries, but that is fine with us too. We know at this point, it won’t last long.
I’m sure we still have some cold spells coming, but you’re right, it is bearable knowing it won’t last. That’s what I love about the changing seasons….it keeps us from getting bored for too long!
I love old bottles and have several. How lucky to be able to find them outside your own back door! I’m glad that you are enjoying your sunshine ☺
I used to scour antique shops for bottles. Then I got tired of dusting them and sold most of them at a yard sale! Finding them in our own yard is definitely more fun (especially since it’s free – LOL).
Aw, there’s nothing like the peace & quiet of worn out, tired puppies 🙂 Enjoy the sunshine and your treasure hunt in your garden.
Glad to see your flowers are finally starting to peek through
Lily & Edward
We are so glad Spring is her too! Unfortunately I have a feeling that kitten season is about to pop!
Horray for spring. And I would be looking everywhere for old bottles too!
We’re going to borrow a metal detector too, and see what other treasures we can find out there! 🙂
you poor thing I cannot believe you still have snow in your yard! lol!!!! Hope it has left you for good!
It’s going….slowly but surely….but that mountain might be here for a while yet!
seems spring brought a lot of fresh green and also fresh energy to the pups ;o)
guess what? I once found old bottles in the woodshed of my granny. and a man in town gave me 10 bucks per bottle… I had 6 so I was a rich kid!!!! yay!!!! later he sold them for much more, but I was so happy that I found a real treasure…or trash-ure :o)
I hope my bottles might be worth some money! 🙂
Oh, it sure looks like Spring has finally sprung there! What a beautiful day it was for some outdoor fun.
