Since Sheba has been doing so well, I haven’t been too worried about her bucket list (you can read more about the origin of this list by clicking here), but I have wanted to work on it. 6th on the list was “New toys to de-stuff”. I actually should have just said “new toys to destroy”, because she seems to enjoy the destruction just as much as the de-stuffing. I recently bought some toys that didn’t even have stuffing, and she and Luke had just as much fun tearing those apart.
The casualties:

I wanted to try the Kong toys because they were supposed to have removable squeakers. However, not all of the squeakers were removable so they still had to be monitored closely with them. I like the Drs. Foster & Smith stuffed toys because they are cheap. The orangutan was part of a prize package from Barking from the Bayou. Melissa, Luke had to have that toy the second he saw it, but it had a short life here. We sure do appreciate your contribution to Sheba’s bucket list though!

Now, we are joining the FitDog Friday blog hop today, and lest you think from these photos that they’re always lying down and toy play is not good exercise, let me assure you they get lots of exercise when playing.

The photo below shows more toys waiting to be played with – er, destroyed. Do you think these poor innocent toys have any idea what their fate is going to be?
In further bucket list news “lots of walks and swims” was on the list as well. I had planned on taking Sheba for a walk yesterday with hopefully a stop at the lake for a swim. However, we woke up to below freezing temperatures! I guess I was rushing summer a little bit there since we did have quite a warm spell. The day ended up being seasonable, meaning about 60 degrees and breezy by noon time. So we decided to take a walk down to the tree farm instead. Sheba enjoyed that and she found a nice little surprise on the walk!

She carried her prize all the way home, though she did drop it a couple of times in order to sniff things and just because she got tired of carrying it. It turned out it was warm walking, so when we got home I put some water in the pool so she could cool off. We still don’t have the real pool we’re hoping for in the last item on her list, but this will do for now.
In an added fitness bonus for the Momz, I had no idea what I was going to write for today’s post, until we set out on that walk. There is nothing like a nice walk to clear my head and get the ideas flowing!

Nice work!
OMD what a perfect bucket list item for Sheba I hope my mom puts it on my list! When my mom lets me destuff toys she goes through the clearance bins to find bargains. Also all toys can have their squeaker removed if you know what I mean! Love Dolly
Trust us, we know what you mean, Dolly! 🙂
Cute pics. She looks SO happy about finding that ball! Will they be able to destroy the Wubba?? Rita loves her Wubba!
Waaaaaiiiit a minute?! Is that Crickett in the pool with Sheba?! All the beagles I’ve known have hated water. (Although our Bailey liked to wade a bit if the weather was really hot!)
Do you know what’s inside a Wubba? We do! The big round part is a squeaky ball that can be played with on it’s own. The small round part is a small tennis ball….I don’t let them keep that since it’s so small. The carcass can continue to be torn apart for quite a while!
Oh yes, that’s Cricket in the pool…she loves to cool off in the water! The most Kobi would ever do was wade in water…lake or river…but he would have nothing to do with the pool, even if I put a treat in there! Cricket will also swim, though we haven’t taken her for a while because the big dogs tend to overwhelm her. I’ll have to take her on her own this summer and see if she still will (if I throw a ball out there I’m pretty sure she will).
I just decided it was better to join em. So I look for discounted cheap stuffed toys in clearance bins – then I just let them have at it.
That’s the way to do it! We sure know that we can’t beat them, but we have to let them have some fun too!
Our pups have managed to destuff ever stuffed toy they’ve had, so we no longer buy those …I know, I know, we’re the party-pooper-humans 😉
I always get blog-inspired on our walks as well, and all of our pack (humans included..) enjoy splashing around in our puppy pools!
I get tired of spending all the money, so I stop buying them sometimes too. Then I miss seeing them playing with them! So we get them every once in a while…and of course I’ll still keep trying the supposed “tough toys” but we haven’t found a stuffed one yet that can’t be de-stuffed!
The fine art of de-stuffing and deading toys is grossly under-appreciated by humans! BOL!
Sheba, you really dedded that toy! Good job!!
Wow! That’s some serious destuffing! I’ve never had a dog who destuffed so I have toys that we’ve had forever! Looks like a good time!
Mr. N virtually never destroys toys so we have toys from back when we first adopted him. I go through his toy box and donate some every once in a while.
Wow! Look at all the adventures you had….new toys, a swim. Love that you are living life to its fullest! Thats what we gotta do!
We had that same strange weather. What’s up with that?
We do not have a lot of furniture jumping when they are playing with toys, but if they are running/wrestling you best move out of the way.
Congrats on checking off one from the list.
OMD! They all look so FUN!!!

Oh Sheba what did they ever do to you!? LOL love how she carries balls home.
Please invite me to the next destuffing pawty… I can bear even a bear :o) We could make a funny zoo-jigsaw that way :o)
Come on over, Easy! Bailie is coming too!
Love, Sheba and Luke
Bailie wants to come and destuff with you all next time. She is the only dog Mom has ever had who destuffs and she doesn’t seem to consider ending her quest either.
I always thought destruction was a puppy thing and Sheba would outgrow it, but we’ve gone past that point. Now I don’t hold out a lot of hope that Luke will either. Sheba and Luke say Bailie is welcome to come help out…the more the merrier!
Our warm weather disappeared, too! Barley was mad that I wouldn’t let her put her toes in the lake yesterday when it was in the 50s when she’d just gotten to splash in it at the beginning of the week–but somehow I always end up getting wetter than she does and I was not interested in that yesterday. Bar’s had the same Kong Wubba for a couple years, but other than a few grass stains from playing in the yard, it still looks brand new! We might need Luke and Sheba to come help us thin out Barley’s toy population so there’s room for new ones.
They would be more than happy to come help out! 🙂
I know what you mean…Sheba would have been happy to swim no matter what the temperature, but I always get wet too and I need it to be hot for that!
Exercise helps with a lot of things doesn’t it! I think one of the rules of Dog is that you can never have too many toys to destuff.
haha! Well it certainly looks like some fun was had while accomplishing number 6 on the list! hahahahahaha!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Look at that smiling happy face!
What is up with the crazy weather? Sheba is really good at destroying toys…lol. Have a great weekend.
