We are only allowed to share one photo for the #PetPhotographyChallenge in the Facebook group. I’m having trouble deciding which to submit this week, so wanted to see what our readers thought!
This week’s challenge “a lower perspective” was something I haven’t played around with much. I was hoping to do some outdoor photos for this week’s challenge, but once I saw what it was and the weather forecast for a snow/ice storm, I was pretty sure that wasn’t going to happen. Getting that lower perspective would require getting down on the ground and I wasn’t up for that on the ice!
The idea for this technique is to get a variety of viewpoints and perspectives in your photos. Shooting from down low can get rid of distracting backgrounds as well.
Luckily Luke gave me two different opportunities for shots, and I was able to grab the camera and lie down on the floor in the bedroom to get these. Luke is such a good model – I didn’t even have any treats and he was willing to sit there and pose! I just started shooting from different angles with different lens lengths (I have an 18-140 zoom lens). He was busy looking out the windows, though he would look directly at me when asked.
I like this first shot for the unusual angle….
but I also liked this shot because of Luke’s paws in the foreground.
Which do you like best? Let us know in the comments below!
Luke looks dashing from any angle!
My vote is for the second one! But they are both great.
Cute pictures I like #2 the best.
Love the second one!
that first one is an unusual angle and kinda cool-and I don’t know why, but it actually makes me dizzy looking at it, that’s how unusual it is! Strange! Therefore I would choose the 2nd one, but also because of those awesome paws, and a closer look at his cute face!
I know what you meant, Lynn, I also got a bit of a dizzy sensation from that one! I ended up submitting #2 to the challenge.
I like the 2nd one too, it’s terrific!
You met the challenge! We like the 2nd one best.
I like the second one. They are both cool though.
We had the same problem but we liked four different ones. Looking forward to seeing which one you go with.
Skipper uses this method often and I always love the results. Yours are awesome ♥
Perspective can be a tough element but you seem to have mastered it in the second pic. 🙂
I love the second one. It is a fabulous shot of Luke. However, the challenge is a lower perspective and I think number one is more unusual.
Thank you for weighing in, Lorna! #2 was overwhelmingly the favorite, but I think that’s just because everyone loves Luke. 🙂 I think #1 was probably more “artistic” and suiting to the challenge.
Number 2. He sure is a handsome fella!
The second one is the best.
The second one is definitely best!
Hmmmm, that’s tough. But I would go with #2.
Ohmigosh, that’s a tough choice! But I think I’d go with the paws in full view…Luke’s eyes are soooo expressive in this one.
We like me the second one
Lily & Edward
the second one is just great… Luke looks like popie somehow who is so generous to give a photographer an audience :o)
I like the 2nd one because of the cute expression on Luke’s face! 🙂
