The ideas seem so good in my head when I’m planning a sponsored post. I wanted to illustrate our recent post “Want the Best Dressed Dog in Town? Dog’s Best Trend Review & Giveaway”, with the dogs walking around our yard and neighborhood showing off their stylish new scarves. (BTW, visit that post – click on the title – if you haven’t yet, it’s a great giveaway and open through Wednesday!).
Putting the idea into action rarely goes as planned. I forget that I have two dogs that are scent hounds or partly scent hounds. Noses to the ground do not make for good photos for showing off scarves.
After walking for a bit, I can get Luke to focus, and he’ll also very willingly pose. The girls, however, have their own ideas and standing or sitting still does not fit in to their plans.
I did finally get cooperation from Sheba, but my photo of Cricket ended up being one of her inside the house lying on her bed. I got a few good walking shots, but the scarves just didn’t show well in any of them – they were on the wrong side most of the time. Getting them to sit still and in a position where you could see the scarf well was challenging indeed! If I stopped to straighten out the scarf, that would just get them moving again.
I ended up getting what I needed, in fact I was thrilled with some of our photos (visit the post to see the keepers). Plus it made our walks that day a little different anyway! But don’t let anyone ever tell you that being a pet blogger is an easy job, especially when your models are divas. 🙂
Coming on Thursday, don’t miss it!
