Luke is on the hunt for hidden treats!
We had a few days of frigid weather early last week, and Luke was starting to go stir crazy. So we played one of his favorite games “Find the Treat”, where I hide several treats around the house and he tracks them down.

He takes the game very seriously, running all over the house with his nose in the air until he finds the score.

Our weather finally warmed up so we were back to our daily walks, but there may be more treat games before winter is over!
Do you play any indoor games with your pets in the winter?
We are joining our friends atΒ Comedy PlusΒ for the Wordless Wednesday blog hop. Please visit them and other blogs through the links below.
Awesome game, Luke! Yes, we love playing this game as well! We also play hide & seek inside where I’ll put Wally in a sit or down-stay, then I’ll hide and Wally has to come find me.
I’d like to try that too, but I need to reinforce Luke’s stay first! π
A fun cold day game.
I play it with Ducky sometimes, too. She enjoys it, but with my foot bothering me, I’ve steered clear of the cement floor as much as I can. Luke really gets into it big time!
Sorry your foot is still bothering! Hope it’s better soon.
Luke really does enjoy the game, he even started searching rooms I’ve never hidden treats in! I’ll have to expand our hides next time. Luckily we’ve been able to walk the last couple of days, it’s been pretty cold, but at least not frigid.
Dat sounds like a pawesome game! I will has to ask Mama if her can play Hide and Go Treat wif me when her head starts feeling betters π
xoxo,
Matt (& Matilda)
Oh no, does Mama have a migraine? I’ve been having a bad spell with mine lately too. π
What a fun fun game!!!! I’m glad that it’s getting warmer!
We’ve had some cold days again, but only one was so cold that we didn’t walk. I could get used to those 40’s we were having though! I think they might be back this week. π
Luke is a lucky boy.
Now that looks like a fun game to play!
That looks like fun, what a sweet thing to do to keep that darling pup happy!
Well, it’s not all just sweetness….it’s self-preservation too. He gets fidgety in the evenings if he doesn’t get some exercise, and then he starts whining and we have to entertain him with toys right when we want to relax and watch the news! LOL
Our den is long, so we might play fetch…that is, Benji will do that, but not Dalton, he just chases after Benji. Or we do tricks for some treats that involve a lot of running or ‘dancing’.
MJF used to be a good hide and seek player:), he would even hunt in my pockets, BOL!
Since we have a doggy door, actually a series they have to go through, which are open to the yard when we are home, if they hear anything or I tell them there is a squirrel, they charge out like two crazypants pups! Even if the snow is deep, that is no deterrent for Benji, and Dalton just goes in the footprint trails, so cute, Hah!
Luke looks like he is having fun at his game!
I wish we had a doggy door! Luke does the squirrel thing too, and if someone walks by on our road, he runs back and forth in the house to all the windows (he thinks he owns the road), that’s always a good one for exercise!
I’ll bet you are darn good at that game Luke!
I sure am!! π
Woofs, Luke
so cute! Yep I do that with the snuffle mat or whatever it’s called
Luke loves the snuffle mat too! He just doesn’t get quite as much exercise using that, I like to get him running around the house if I can.
We used to play this game when bad weather kept us in. We haven’t for a while now, but I remember how much they loved to play. It’s good to exercise their minds when we can’t exercise their bodies.
BUT…nicer walking weather will soon be here!
We sure hope so! It’s been pretty cold here again. π
A wonderful game indeed. I so enjoy seeing what you’re up to, Luke. Make sure you tell the mom although I think she’s on to me.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, Luke. My best to your mom. β₯
She just might be on to you, Auntie Sandee! π
Love, Luke
we work on obedience stuff inside… hide&seek is too dangerous with two weima-gators LOL
We can just imagine!! π
No, we play outside, but we do practice our nose work inside sometimes, or we go rent the ring and work on our barn hunt skills. Have fun, Luke.
Winters are easier for you cold loving hound dogs! π
I love that game too, Luke! Mom loves to hide my tennis ball because she knows how anxious I get when I don’t know exactly where it is and she knows that I will never give up looking for it.
Mom wishes I loved balls as much as you do, Molly, like our Angel Cricket used to. I don’t really have any one toy that I love especially – I just love them all!!
