Cricket really knows how to perk those hound dog ears forward for maximum effectย when she wants to, and the resting chin doesn’t hurt either. She doesn’t do it for nothing though, so what has her ratcheting up the beagle cuteness factor here?
Scroll down, and Sheba will show you!

POPCORN! We hadn’t had popcorn in a while, I don’t think since we moved. I like to make it the old fashioned way in a pan with oil and yes, we even put butter on it. No wonder the dogs get so interested. Plus I think treats are extra special when you’re sharing with the humans. BTW, the only reason I didn’t have a photo of Luke for this occasion as well, is because he was sitting directly behind my shoulder! He wanted to keep a close eye on me, but Cricket trusted that her cuteness would get hers delivered. ๐
Thank you to BlogPaws for hosting the Wordless Wednesday blog hop!
The Boys are not interested in popcorn at all. I was so surprised because Jaxson eats everything – expect popcorn I guess….
Popcorn is a favorite around here, too! Barley and I share a bag together fairly regularly. Most of the time, she doesn’t get people snacks, but she knows the word popcorn and runs back and forth to the microwave if I don’t get it out as soon as it stops popping, so she’s too cute not to share ๐
It’s so sweet how a simple little thing like popcorn can make them so happy!
Food is a powerful motivator ๐
My two absolutely adore popcorn. It’s their very favorite thing, when hubby and I sit down with popcorn and a movie. They get lap time AND a snack!
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie
It doesn’t get any better than that, for everyone, right? ๐
It’s the smell that brings everyone running. ๐
So cute!! I love beagle cuteness! (In fact, there’s a lot of it on my blog today too!)
I have a funny story about our beagle and popcorn – Bailey (who was a typical beagle chow-hound) was NEVER interested when we’d make microwave popcorn. But when we got a popcorn popper and started making REAL popcorn – of course with real butter – she was ALL over it! (It made us stop eating microwave popcorn because we realized there must be something wrong with it!)
I love that story!! Bailey was very smart! We used to do the microwave popcorn too, and we tried the hot air popper as well. Nothing compares to the real thing done the old fashioned way. ๐
That’s because the beagle NOSE knows that that is the best way to make popcorn!
Beagles are very smart, aren’t they? ๐
too cute, I was wondering where Luke was!
I would have had to take a selfie to show him, but I’m not sure I wanted to do that at the end of the day when I was in my pj’s! LOL
Ahh! A very effective popcorn scrounging method. Adorable too! My dogs love popcorn especially my little one Phoebe, she’s working on perfecting her scrounging methodology, BOL!!
Love & biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Cricket hopes Phoebe was taking notes here. ๐
We love the smell of popcorn!
Great photos!
No pop corn for me. I don’t think as a cat I would like it.
Thank you, Athena! You might be surprised….we used to have a cat named Don Juan and he LOVED popcorn. He also liked potato chips! ๐
Popcorn is the one treat that Bentley can catch! It is a favorite treat around here too. โฅ
One of Dakota’s FAVORITE things in life is popcorn!!!!! I make the old-fashioned kernels, but I put it in the microwave with no oil, then after it is popped, I add olive oil and parm cheese, yum!!!!
Olive oil and parmesan, that sounds awesome! I might have to try that. I used to do parmesan sometimes but never tried olive oil instead of butter. I think the crew would approve too. ๐
DO IT!! Trust me, you will LOVE IT! It’s healthier too. Before I started sharing popcorn with Dakota I used to add garlic too. Now, that he is my popcorn buddy (I only give him tiny morsels of the popped corn, I am too afraid of him possibly choking on it)……I never add garlic anymore.
Popcorn is very popular around here too! Watch those teeth though! Poor Emma’s mom. Love Dolly
Popcorn smell must be irresistible to dogs.
Our beagle friend puts his head back and howls

LOL….I’m sure glad Cricket doesn’t do THAT!
Oh, Oz loves popcorn too! No wonder those ears are all perky!
Oh yeah, these pups are so smart, they know just when to elevate the cuteness factor to irresistible levels. We have movie nights at home on weekends, and we make air-popped popcorn for those. We don’t eat dairy, so we use another “necessary evil” – mini chocolate chips that we sprinkle in and the hot air melts them as it pops. It’s amazing! Daisy gets so excited watching the popcorn fly out of the popper, but she knows she’s not allowed to eat it. Our little girl has a stomach made of thin porcelain!
Ooohhh, chocolate chips, that sounds good! The dogs wouldn’t be happy with us if we couldn’t share though!
Cricket can really pour on the cuteness factor, can’t she? BOL And Sheba does a good job of it, too! But what the heck!
Oh yes, these girls know how to be cute, and it works every time! ๐
Oh yes, we all love our popcorn on football Sundays. We used to throw a few pieces on the floor at each dog, but too many fights erupted, so now they each sit in their spot as close as they can get, and we share one piece at a time.
Yeah, we used to like to toss things like popcorn too, but we don’t do that any more for the same reason!
popcorn is great… but Emma is right it can end eggs-pensive…. Easy fortunately is not interested in popcorn, he also dislikes chocolate ..howlelujah!
Easy is a smart boy!
Be careful. My mom has popcorn 1 – 2 times a year, but last month was her last time. She broke a tooth and ended up with a $1300 bill for a crown. She said that was her last popcorn! It’s good, but not worth it to her anymore.
Oh no, your poor Mom! I guess it only takes one time? We’ll definitely be careful, but I don’t think I can give up popcorn just yet!
