We don’t care what the calendar says, winter is here! Not only did we get our first snow this week, but the temperatures are plunging rapidly. The wind chills and overnight temperatures are expected to be in the single digits today, without much hope of recovering over the next week.
Let the hibernation begin! It’s too cold too fast and we need more time to adjust. π

It is SO hard when the temperature falls really fast. It is hard to adapt. Snuggle next to the fire!
That’s what we’ve been doing! We did finally get a break though so we could get out for a walk, and after today things look a bit more normal; cold but not frigid! That we can deal with!
I has a bad feeling dis winter is gonna be a cold one. It was in da 50’s here yesterday and only made it to da mid 60’s today which is pure craziness fur November in FL.
xoxo,
Matt & Matilda
We think you might be right. It’s not just here, everywhere seems colder than normal!
UGH! Our temps dropped 50 degrees in one day. We woke up to temps in the 20s. Not a fan of the cold at all sooo…I’m snuggled on the couch watching Hallmark Christmas movies and catching up on blogs. Stay warm because I know you will get much colder while we will be back in the 70s next week. LOL!
Wow, that’s really cold for you!! Hope it got warm again. We’ve had a couple of days of 40’s. Better than nothing, and the week ahead looks a bit better anyway; not frigid. π
I saw flakes, but they did not stick.
Lucky you! We still have just a little bit on the ground. At least some of it melted!
Yep, we got snow and now it’s freezing cold. I’m staying by the fireplace. ~Ernie
That’s a very good plan, Ernie!!
I agree and I hate it. You look warm luke.
He doesn’t mind the cold as much as I do, but he was picking up his paw the other day when we were out there!
Hang in there!! We hope the temperatures warm up for you soon. On the upside, it sure it pretty!
It is pretty, we do have to admit that! We’ve had a couple days where it moderated a bit, and next week looks more promising anyway. π
We’ve got our paws crossed that a bit of a relief will hit your area soon. It was bitter cold Monday with snow but will be 60 today.
It always amazes me that your weather is crazier than ours! π
sadly it’s been here for a few days lol. We got 5 inches of snow and are bitter cold! Keep warm and cozy!
Wow, you got more snow than we did! We only ended up with a couple inches.
Yikes Luke, keep warm pal. We didn’t have snow but the brrrr humbug showed up here.
Hopefully he heads back North, WAY North, soon! π
We are still having spring like days and tomorrow it’s supposed to drop into the high of 60s. Poor Luke needs to make sure he’s warm.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Extra treat to Luke. β₯
Don’t you worry, he knows where the best spot in the house is – right in front of the wood stove! π
Poor Luke! Where’s his beautiful fleece coat? Our overnight temps got below freezing. As I write this, the weather app says it’s 26F outside. Brrrr! That’s cold for our part of the country! Hopefully it will warm up before I go to pick up Radar at the vet later!
We were only out for a few minutes for some photos, so we didn’t put his coat on. I hope you got warmer, that’s cold for you!
oh my…we have to spit in our socks to get enough fat-reserves for the cold time… bring on the good treats and the ice cream
Ha ha, it’s that way for Luke too!
19 here this morning. Our huskies love it. Me and staff not so much. Can we skip winter?
I’m all for that!! π
We have passed on our bitter cold and terrible winds to the east. Cold is fine with us, but the winds made it really hard to be outside.
You could have kept it. LOL
Yes, the wind chills are definitely the worst.
Poor Luke. “MOM! It’s snowing! Make it stop! This isn’t how it is supposed to happen!” Ah. That time of year Bear is so proud of his escape … until his paws get wet and he’s cold and realizes inside is a nice place to be!
If you think it bothers Luke, you should see how the birds take it. They are NOT happy at all!!
We have a superCold day at our house today too, Luke. Where is your coat, buddy?
Stay warm!
We were only outside for some quick photos, so he didn’t have his coat on. We went right back in and sat in front of the wood stove! π
Brr, it will be a long winter.
I have snow for my WW too. We had a foot in 3 hours 2 weeks ago with -12C (10F) temperature …..but we were in the Arctic Circle at the time!
I don’t suppose there’s any hope for an early spring! π
