Now that I’m unemployed, I cannot complain one bit about being home with these two sweet faces all of the time:
However, there is one thing that I miss – coming home from work. We always had our same little routine. Both dogs started barking when I pulled in the driveway, and jumped with glee as I came in the door (a little too gleeful on Luke’s part sometimes!). Then they would go outside to pee and come back in for a treat. Cricket would usually do what I call her “beagle dance” as she headed to the pantry where the treats are kept. I shot this video during my last week of work, and did what I could to wind her up, and I think it worked!
At least if I have to go back to work outside the home, I’ll have something to look forward to!
So cute!! We wuv da telling secrets. I use to do dat wif Angel Ginger when Mama would come home from running errands. Mama always said I was telling Ginger not to tattle dat I had yelled at Matilda while her was gone. BOL BOL BOL
xoxo,
Matt (& Matilda)
Ah…so that’s what they were up to! Not tattling on who did what while I was gone! 🙂
Adorably precious. Love those happy, wagging tails. 😍 Great production work, too!
Thank you! I found a good video editing program to help me with that! 🙂
I wouldn’t mind seeing them all day either, too cute
That will always be my preference. ♥
We call it the hero’s welcome! What a sweet video!
I love that, and thank you!
How can you not be happy to be home when you’re met with that?!?! They make a formidable team! I love the “Beagle dance” … I’m surprised Cricket’s tail doesn’t fly off!
I fully expect Cricket to take flight with that tail one of these days. 🙂
❤️😂❤️😂!!!! So sweet! And such sweet, happy faces! Those special “Welcome Home!” routines make our hearts burst with joy! Reminds me of Callie’s and Shadow’s happy dances when I got home from work. But you’ll have new routines and new happy dances soon. Just like my girls and me. Enjoy every minute, just like the pups do!!
Will do!! ♥
Even though you might miss that cute routine, I think you’ll develop some new ones that will be even better! I think that Luke and Cricket will be thrilled to have you home more!
I think you are right, thank you. I think it’s a lack of routine that’s really been throwing me off lately. It’s been a crazy month full of disruptions. I think the dogs handle it better than I do though!
I agree. I remember coming home from work and seeing Wally and Ernie standing in the door waiting for me…or probably just to be fed. 😉 Now that I’m retired, I don’t get to see those faces at the door much. ~Island Cat Mom
Very sweet faces to come home to.
I love both worlds – working away and in the home. Enjoy your time with your four legged loves. At some point you will be out and about on a different routine once again. Live in the moment!!!
That is sound advice, and exactly what I’m trying to do! 🙂
Coming home was always the bright part of my day! The boys get excited anytime we come home but you’re right, it’s not the same.
I guess it’s all a trade-off, but I’d still choose being home with them all the time, even though I miss that excitement!
Homestaying sounds like it is as much fun as homecomings!
ADORABLE!! Once a few years ago I posted Dakota’s reaction when I returned from BarkWorld, it was hilarious, he was beside himself. Since I work from home too, I don’t get that greeting every day…wait……yes I do lol, this will make you laugh. My husband substitute teaches now almost every day. When HE comes home, Dakota runs to ME (who has been home with him ALL DAY) and starts kissing me. My husband looks at him and goes “Um, Dakota, remember me? I’m the one who was gone all day”………so…I guess it depends on who you are in my home! lol
That is too funny!! Luke had started doing that sometimes when my hubby got home too; but I thought he was just so excited that Dad was home, he had to come tell me. 🙂
We do have our routines and some of them are so solid, we don’t like to change them. Enjoy your time not working. It is great to be able to spend a lot more time with your furry ones.
I am enjoying it, even though it hasn’t quite been the month I had thought it would be. I think (hope) things are finally settling back down now so I can enjoy it for a little longer before having to find a job!
