We’re back (I hope)! It was a crazy week getting our blog migration done. We ran into some glitches here and there so please let me know if you do as well. I ran low on time, so didn’t want to rush putting together our big review/giveaway post for today, therefore we’ll be putting that up first thing next week. I had time to write three drafts for other posts coming soon, so we might finally be kind of ahead!
Here’s a little preview of the crew having fun working on that post:
For Flower Friday today, we’re asking for your help. I have a few flowers popping up around the yard this year that I haven’t been able to identify yet. I swear I didn’t see some of them last year (our first summer at this house). Here are two photos, the second one shows the leaves a little bit more in case that’s a clue.
Either way, I love the pretty pink and stripes. I’ll have some other unknowns to share over the rest of the summer too. I’m keeping pretty busy trying to discern what are weeds and what are flowers. How does that saying go: “May all your weeds be wildflowers?”. I’m OK with wildflowers, but I get impatient waiting to see what some of these plants will become!
We are happy to be joining the Flower Friday blog hop hosted by Da DB Boyz.
Thanks for joining us for the anniversary of Allie and Mauricio.

Pretty pictures! I have no idea what they might be–I’m so used to enjoying plants at the arboretum that I get so annoyed when I find pretty flowers or cool trees and realize there aren’t markers identifying them for me 🙂 If I see any that look like this the next time we’re at the arboretum, I’ll take note of the name for you!
Ha ha, yes, all plants and trees should be labeled for identification! Some of the flowers here actually were, the previous owner did leave some tags around – the ones that come on plants when you buy them. But very few!
Thanks for keeping an eye out for these for me!
I wonder if it’s fireweed. I saw a similar plant on Tales From the Backroad’s Facebook page. You could Google it to see if the plant is a match to the ones in your yard.
Thank you, Edie! I did find the photo on Mary’s page, and googled it as well. It does look very similar, but I don’t think that’s it.
After I thought about it, I think maybe I did see these last year, and I thought they were cosmos. However, I looked those up too, and all the cosmos I saw had yellow centers.
The mystery continues! 🙂
Are y’all having a luau?? I don’t know the names of some of my flowers so I can’t help identify yours. LOL!
I thought I knew flowers until we moved into this house and there’s more and more I can’t identify!
We did have a little luau….trying some new food and treats with a Hawaiian theme. 🙂
I’m sorry that you ran into some glitches but that’s to be expected, right? I love the photos of the pups in the sunshine!!! I think that your flowers are pretty too… but I don’t know what they are. Sorry!
Yes, I think glitches are definitely to be expected! I think we’ve worked through most of them now, unless something else pops up!
Love that picture of Cricket! I’m no help with the flower identification, but they sure are pretty!
Pretty is the most important thing anyway, right? 🙂
Welcome back and it’s nice to see the smiling pups!
Thank you! It is SO good to be back, even though we’re still working out some bugs.
Looks like you’re all having fun in the sun! We envy you … it’s WAY too hot here to even try!
Our weather has been so crazy up and down this summer! It’s been kind of hot lately, so play sessions are shorter, but at least it hasn’t been unbearable.
