Why is Luke so happy in this photo?
It’s not just because the sun is finally shining, it was even warm enough to sit outside for a bit, or even just because I’m about to share a french fry with him. He is smiling because the Dadz is on vacation this week (well, staycation really), for the first time in almost two years (since he started his new job). We even had a nice family walk, which is a rare occurrence since normally on the days Dadz is off, that’s when Momz goes off to do some of her work and various errands.
We hope to have more before he has to go back to work!

We love Doodle Dad’s retirement schedule. He works one day a week – Thursday’s. That’s the day the Boys stay home from the hospital so they can be together and rest together. After decades of that Army life, I enjoy having the old soldier around more. Enjoy him….

Dogs are happiest when their humans are close by and paying attention to them. Anytime I pick up her frisbee, it puts a smile on Lucy’s face.
That is so true. Luke is especially needy for attention. But he’s a good boy if we’re busy too. We bet Lucy has some fun with that frisbee!

A staycation sounds wonderful, but Mom can’t seem to figure out how to take any time off from work. Enjoy time with your dad.
Oh, we understand that. The Momz never gets a vacation, but she manages some time off, a day here and there anyway. 🙂
