We are pleased to be part of the Nature’s Recipe ® for Moments blog hop. We have been asked to look at moments we share with our pets and how those moments enforce the special bond we have, through our own eyes and through theirs.
In a multi pet household sometimes it is difficult to feel like each of our dogs is getting the individual attention he or she wants or needs. We do our best to keep them all happy by doing the things they each love. Each dog gets their own special moment whether it be some one on one time with Mom or Dad, getting to play their favorite game, or in our new puppy Luke’s case, knowing he has become part of a family and gets to join in the fun and games that his sisters love so much.
Kobi is older and beyond game playing, but he loves hanging out with me when I’m working from home and he also loves the walks that just he and I take around our neighborhood. We had one of those walks the weekend before last. Kobi has been slowing down a lot lately, and even though we didn’t go far, we spent close to an hour just strolling down the street together. He stops and sniffs here and there, or just gazes off into the woods wondering what is out there.
Cricket’s passion in life is for playing fetch. Yes, our younger beagle loves to play fetch possibly even more than her golden retriever sister. Every moment that we can spend outside in the yard playing is what makes her the happiest. The weather has been bitter cold this winter, but last week we got some fresh snow and a break in the temperatures, so had been spending at least a short time outside playing almost every day.
She even enjoys playing when she has to share with her new brother, Luke, who doesn’t understand the game of fetch yet. He chooses to turn the game into “keep away”, and doesn’t he love having his sisters chase him down to try and get the ball from him! Cricket gets impatient with him sometimes, when she brings the ball back to me and he steals it. Sometimes I purposely let him get it so he can have his chance to play too!
Sheba loves to be outside playing with all of us, but she also cherishes the times that I take her for a walk, just her and I. She is a bit of a jealous girl, and any time she gets to spend alone with her Mom is special time for her. In the summer we go swimming but this time of year walks are really the only option. She gets so excited when she knows she is going, she can hardly contain herself.
Luke’s most special moment had to have come when he realized he had been accepted as part of our family. Whether he is snuggling with Mom or Dad, or hanging out with his siblings, he knows he is one of us. Being accepted by his eldest sibling Kobi was very special for all of us.
We enjoy each and every moment we spend together, and we know how precious they all are. Especially with Kobi, who at 13 with failing health, is reaching the end of his time with us. We are going to cherish every precious moment we have left.

I love that last picture of Kobi and Luke. So very precious and special. How are you doing? It is so hard to lose a furry friend. In fact, it really sucks:( Thinking about you!
Thank you for thinking of me. I am doing OK. The other dogs are such a comfort, having them helps so much. It really does suck to lose a furry friend but at least Kobi had a good long life.
I can’t believe how small Luke looks in that photo! I think he is probably as tall as Kobi was now, and almost weighs as much as he did too!
They all look very well loved and full of joy
I believe they are! 🙂 Thank you so much for coming by.
How do you get your beagles to wear the shoes! My Lulu refuses!

Kobi was a very easygoing guy, and even though he didn’t like having them put on, he’d put up with it and once they were on he was fine. You’ll notice you don’t see them on Cricket….she is not so easygoing! Have you tried the Pawz? If you can get them on them they seem to tolerate them better than some other boots, because they’re rubber they can feel the ground more and it seems more natural to them. I need to work with Cricket a little more though, I’ve only tried once with her so far.
Such fun moments. You are lucky to have each other. Thank you for sharing.
We are indeed very lucky! Thank you for coming by and sharing in our moments.
What a sweet post. Loved it and the pictures.
Thank you, I am so glad you enjoyed them!
I love how you know each of their personalities so well, they are so lucky to have such a great pack leader!
P.S. those PAWZ rubber boots are great aren’t they? We always recommend them for Tripawds, especially for folks who are unsure if their dogs will like wearing boots. Good stuff!
Thank you! Yes, we do love the Pawz boots. The dogs don’t love having them put on, but once they are on they don’t mind them at all. And I love keeping their paws protected from the ice and snow (they also helped Kobi with traction). Thank you so much for coming by!
Those are special moments indeed. Thanks for sharing them with us. Hope Kobi is doing better.
I am so glad you enjoyed them. Thank you so much for thinking of Kobi.
Such great moments you get to share with all of them 🙂 I know they appreciate it too.
Each moment makes such a special memory, for all of us!
Oh Jan…I love how every pet gets their own special moment with you and with each other. I’m keeping Kobi in my thoughts. Thanks for sharing your Recipe for Moments!

Thank you so much, Roxy, and I’m glad you enjoyed our stories.
Sweet! one reason we did not get another dog. For sure having multiple dogs, each moments with them is extra special. Golden hugs to everyone especially Kobi. Golden LOVE n Woofs
Thank you! Sometimes I feel bad they don’t get more individual attention but I think the companionship they provide each other makes up for that. Thank you for the hugs, Sugar, they are much appreciated.
Beautiful story…thank so much for sharing your moments with us.

Thank you for always coming by and reading! Hugs to all of you too.
We sometimes have issues with Mom’s attention too, but we also seem to each have our special places and times where we are alone with Mom. It is hard to share, but we do it and it is nice to have siblings which means sharing. We are thinking of you and Kobi.
Thank you so much, Emma. I think it is great for you dogs to have siblings, even if there is some jealousy sometimes. You are great companions for each other and I think that balances out any jealousy.
Great pictures, Jan. Praying for Kobi…xoxo
Thank you, Sheryl!
