I am sharing some photos of our Christmas tree, only seen in black and white previously. I needed to keep it simple with a young pup in the house, and my theme this year is “animals”. I also wanted to share some of the individual ornaments. For me, each ornament is a memory – of when I got it, who it was from, or who it represents. They each bring a smile (sometimes a bit of a sad smile) to my face as I decorate the tree.
The current crew each has their own ornament – the cats are cartoonized versions of each of them from Mollie and Alfie’s store.
I don’t have each of our past animals yet, I’m working on getting all of them, but this is a collection of the Rainbow Bridge ornaments I do have now.
I won this ornament through Facebook last Christmas, and I’m so glad that I decided to get it in Kobi’s name.
This was a gift from a former pet sitting client:
The reindeer came from a close friend this year, and I just thought the dog in the background looked cute!

Aww, very cute! We got our first ornament featuring ME this year, for my first Christmas in my forever home. Now I can see how it will become a tradition every year! *wags* – Gilligan from WagsAhoy.com
Oh, it’s so fun to start a new tradition! Now every year from now on your pawrents will remember your very first Christmas in your home when they see that ornament!
Those are all so beautiful!
I have many meaningful ornaments as well.
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thank you! It’s fun to collect them isn’t it, and get them out each year and remember their story.
Merry Christmas Jan, Luke’s new ornament looks great! I have lots of pet ornaments on the tree too, but maybe I should go back and get some for a few pets that aren’t included on the tree like you.
Thank you, Ann! I’m so glad that you shared about those ornaments, I might not have been able to get his in time this year otherwise. I still have a few to get for past pets, but I think I’ll just work on those a little bit every year.
It’s the sentimental ornaments that make a tree special. Those are all so sweet. Have a very Merry Christmas! ♥
It really is, and it’s just so much fun pulling each one out and trying to remember when/where I got it (it’s nice to have the ones with the year on them, that helps…lol!)
I love your tree and all your ornaments!
And what a special way to remember all of your current and past pets.
Thank you!!
What a fabulous tree and a wonderful collection of ornaments. What a lovely idea to have one for each of them! Merry Christmas!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! A friend of mine gave me the first dog ornaments with names, so she started the collection and I’m so glad she did.
What a great assortment of ornaments. I have some that I inherited, some I’ve had for years, some for the doggies and some I don’t know where they came from…but that’s part of the fun, pulling the out each year and remembering. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas.
Thank you! That is definitely part of the fun…trying to remember where some of them came from!
Thanks for sharing, you have some pretty ornaments!
Thank you for coming by and sharing them with me!
Love all of the ornaments. I need to get a few more special ones for Mauja and Atka.
Thank you! A friend of mine gave me the first dog ones with names, for Kobi and Maggie, so she started that trend for me. I’m glad she did!
We don’t have more than one or two pet ornaments, but many of the ones we do have are memories for mom and she enjoys looking at them each year.
I have a lot of glass ornaments I didn’t use, some from when I was a child, and I hope to be able to put those up one year too….when Luke is a little older and less apt to try to steal anything!
Great post! Many of my ornaments hold special memories, too!
Merry Christmas!
We haven’t had a big tree every year either, so it’s fun to get out some of the decorations that we haven’t used every year.
Wow, your tree is beautiful…and we LOVE the ornaments! Thanks for sharing them with us. Meowy Catmas Eve!
Thank you, I am so glad you enjoyed seeing them!
What a cute tree! I love all the ornaments and how they all mean something. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Thank you, Mary! Hope you had a great day too.
Those are awesome, what a beautiful tree. Have a great Christmas Eve.
Thank you!! We used to have a tree with the big colored lights and lots of tinsel, and I kind of miss that, but I’ve learned to enjoy the more simple, which is safer for the pets!
I loved this post. When we were stationed in Panama some years ago, our ornaments were destroyed by the humidity (long story) so I love to look at and hear the history of other peoples Christmas trees. I miss all that I’ve collected over the years that are now gone, but I cherish the stories people share about theirs. Thanks so much for writing this.
I’m so glad you enjoyed this….and sad that you lost all of your ornaments. We lost a bunch of stuff once from some boxes getting wet when stored in the basement of an apartment we lived at….I think it was mostly papers and stuff from college though, and even though sentimental in a way, not quite as important.
Beautiful tree! I love the animal ornaments. 🙂
Thank you, Sheryl! You’ll have to send me a picture of your tree too!
Cute ornaments. I have about a million Golden ornaments from when we have one. No Chessie ornaments. The only ones I have seen were very expensive. I like the idea of an ornament for each pet. I need to get on that. I do try to get ornaments from places we have traveled. Those bring back memories for me. 🙂
Happy Christmas Eve to you!
I hope you can find an affordable Chessie ornament one day! That is fun too, getting ornaments when you travel. I usually try to add one new ornament every year, this year was Luke’s.
Beautifully decorated tree……I love all the memories we have attached to the ornaments we put on our trees – it’s the BEST part of decorating! May you and all your family have the most fabulous Christmas EVER!
Love and Holiday Hugs,
Pam and Sammy
Thank you so much, Pam and Sam. You are right, it really is the best part of decorating!!
