Cricket recently had to go to the vet for a teeth cleaning. Everything went well; all pre-anesthesia blood work came out good, and there were no major issues with her teeth. She was not a happy camper when she came home.
We put her in the crate because she was still pretty loopy from the anesthesia, so we didn’t want her wandering near the stairs or jumping on the furniture, or for the other dogs to bother her. Being the stubborn beagle that she is, she sat there like this for most of the evening, giving me dirty looks and only lying down to sleep once.
The cute part was that when Luke kept going up to the crate, Sheba would chase him away! She was apparently trying to protect her sister and give her some space from their nosy brother.

When we had our dinner, I gave her a little bit of scrambled eggs which she was happy about and then we let her out and fed her half a meal – kibble softened by water. Then she was a happy girl again and finally went to sleep! By the next afternoon she was totally back to her old self.

Aww, poor baby!
She definitely knows how to garner some sympathy! 🙂
Oh Cricket, you do look fierce.
Don’t mess with the beagle! LOL
So glad her dental cleaning went well. Nice fresh breath now.
Yes, so nice!! She had a lot of tartar and I was actually impressed with how great her teeth look too.
OMD! You were in some serious trouble! That is so sweet that Sheba helped keep the rowdy brother from bugging Cricket. We all know how little brothers can be! BOL!
Sisters have to stick together sometimes! 🙂
Our angel Gemini (who we called cricket) gave us the same look after her dental cleaning!
Some dogs are really good at those looks I think!
I am glad looks cannot kill. She does not look happy!
Yes, I’m sure lucky about that! I was sitting in the room she was in so I was getting the brunt of it!
Aww poor sweet pup!!!
Glad she is all back to normal now!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
It was no fun for her, but she really was good about it all. Luckily it only happens every few years.
Glad she’s recovering well! Her dirty look is so funny.
I wonder if it’s something that just beagles are so good at….dirty looks that is?
The dentist and then the crate…that was a rough day. Glad you’re feeling better and everything went well.
She really was a trooper, other than the daggers her eyes were throwing at me! LOL
If she isn’t used to being in the kennel much, it probably was not what she wanted. Glad it wall went well and she is out of jail.
Yeah, we might have to come up with another plan next time….the kennel was definitely not a hit. I’m not sure if it was more that, or more the missing of breakfast and then a late supper though!
awww Cricket… glad you’re feeling better already 🙂
I think the lack of food was the biggest problem, so once she had that things were looking up already. 🙂
Oh 🙁 but gotta take care of those teeth, it is very important. Wishing you a relaxing weekend unless you guys plan to extend any barkday celebration. Happy Sunday. Golden Woofs
As you can see on our post today, we are all celebrated out! LOL Hope you had a great Sunday too, Sugar.
Glad everything went well and that you are feeling back to normal! Now we just need a photo of those pearly whites!
Momz didn’t want to push it…..LOL. They really look nice though!!
Ah, poor Cricket… The dentist is no fun, I know. Glad to know she did good, though, and was back to her old self in no time. Happy Sunday, all!

It definitely is not fun. Come to think of it, I kind of wish they’d knock me out at the dentist too…LOL.
Hope you had a great Sunday too!
Glad to hear everything went smoothly!
I tried not to worry too much while she was gone. We’d had them done before and all went fine so that helped a little.
Ya, those are some nasty looks alright.
She’s pretty good at it, isn’t she?
Oh, the dreaded teeth cleaning. So glad everything went well and that Cricket is back to her old Beagle self! Happy B&W Sunday
Oz
Luckily this is only the second time she has had to have them done.
