Today’s Monday Mischief post is being told by the K9 Krew here at Wag ‘n Woof. They have a story they are just dying to tell you!
Cricket: I’m the oldest, so I get to start. Some of our longer time followers may remember a post from last summer where me and Sheba were accused of some mischief on Momz’ flowers. Here’s the link if you would like to see that post!
Luke: I want everyone to know I was not here back then!!
Sheba: Yes, Luke, everyone knows. This year Momz didn’t put any flowers on the deck (probably because, ahem, there’s a puppy in the house….LUKE), except for a hanging plant that no one can reach. But what she did do is put some plants on the screened in porch….trying to make the porch seem more like really being outdoors for our cat Samantha who likes to hang out there (she is not supposed to go outside).
Cricket: Well, the very next morning, guess what Momz found??
Sheba: Now, don’t let this innocent face fool you:
Luke: Yeah!! Because look what I found!!

Cricket: Now, no one else goes out on the porch at night, except for Sam. They leave the window open so she can come and go onto the porch, but the door is closed, so no dogs can get out there!!
Samantha: Clearly, the evidence is all circumstantial. You can’t prove anything.
Luke: Well, apparently Momz wasn’t too mad at her, because she went out and bought some new plants for her! That doesn’t seem fair!!
Sheba: Yeah, and you can already see where she’s been chewing on the one on the right!!
Cricket: Momz bought her catnip this time, and bigger plants, so that it would be OK if she chewed on them. I’m just satisfied that we presented all the evidence and proved that the CAT IS GUILTY AS CHARGED!
Samantha: Don’t worry, you guys, Momz is clearly punishing me by making me work for my treats in this foolish cardboard box game again!
Cricket, Sheba, & Luke: Then our work here is done!!

Mollie and Alfie
I bet Mollie is lording this one all over Alfie!
xxxooo
BOL! Caught red-pawed!! The evidence proves who is the mischievous one in your house!
Yes, she was!! It’s the quiet ones that can’t be trusted!
Lol kitty busted!
Like everyone these days, she should feel like she’s being watched at all times, right? 🙂
I say a little cat mischief never hurt anyone. I’m sure the other three generate a lot more mischief than one little cat!
We think you are probably right about that!
Our mommy didn’t plant any plants this summer cause Diesel digs everything up. Mommy is hoping he will grow out of that stage so she can plant them next summer! We really thought you were going to say Luke did it!!!!
It’s not like he’s not capable….that’s why the table was put in front of the plants!
We don’t have any gardens inside the dog yard….those got moved out when we got the golden retrievers!
TOO funny, too cute-great job by all!
Thank you, Auntie Lynn!
Great reporting gang. Love the treat game at the end!
Thanks! Sam is not quite as sold on the treat game….but she’s getting used to it!
Ha ha ha! I like how Samantha doesn’t even look phased by being caught and guilty!
No remorse there!
Waydaminit! Unless she catches you red-pawed, you’re innocent!
That’s totally what I said, and I think Momz agrees….who cares what the dogs say, right?
Love, Sam
Nice reporting work, pups! But… it does seem like she got a reward after her mischief! Nice work, Samantha! Also, Samantha… you need to work on your “innocent” face. 🙂 That cardboard box game does look tough, even if it’s not, tell the dogs it is so they think you got “punished”.
Somehow, the innocent face just ends up looking like the “attitude” face, doesn’t it?
I’m pretty sure that was definitely her plan, to let the dogs think she got punished!
Smart kitty, figured out how to get away with mischief and get a reward in the end. Maybe the dogs need mischief lessons from the cat.
That is totally going to the cat’s head! 🙂
No wonder the dogs are complaining… it’s like she’s getting rewarded for her misdeeds!
Well, she figures that the dogs destroy half of their toys, and end up getting new toys, so fair is fair. 🙂
MOL! Way to get what you want Samantha. I’m sure this was all part of some bigger scheme to get some catnip plants installed in your patio.
Oh yes, it was, Miss Ann! I know what I’m doing!
Love, Sam
At our house the cat is always the guilty party by the votes of four dogs. The cat doesn’t care.
That’s the joy of being a cat…taking everything in stride!
BOL!!!!! Ahhhh thats all circumstantial!!!! Can’t prove nothing!!!!
(pssssst, I got yer back!)
hahaha!!! Love the cardboard treat puzzle! Great idea!
Oh BTW I sent you an email invite, check it out and let me know what you think!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thanks for having my back!! I’m not so sure about the treat puzzle though….
Love, Sam
It’s always best when the cat is found guilty of plant mutilation. She will enjoy tasting the catnip. The boys would like a cat to blame their mischief on too!
That might be the only thing dogs think cats are good for….LOL…just kidding! They’re also good for chasing (playfully only).
Pawesome investigation! Wooooowoooooooo!
Thank you, Ku, we thought we aced it!
Love Cricket, Sheba, and Luke
LOL! Great story, and in a way similar to my mystery today with circumstantial evidence. Mom really needs to set that box game up for my cat bro Bert, he would go nuts, but it would be good for him.
Thanks, and our stories really were kind of similar!
Samantha will ignore the box game at first, but once she realizes I’m not going to help her, she’ll get into it. I recommend setting it up on the floor though, because that’s where it ended up anyway! Of course, we have to do it in a room away from the dogs though!
Clearly, dogs deserve the same TREATment. Or really, just the treat.
Don’t you worry, the dogs get plenty of treats, and they probably have gotten them post-mischief as well!
Smart Mom to change the plants to more cat friendly ones.
It’s what I really wanted in the first place, but I was trying to save money by using plants I had started from seed myself. You can see how that worked out. LOL Next year I’ll be buying catnip seeds!
HAHAHAHA……looks like you were busted but didn’t get into trouble! New plants – and they look YUMMY too!!!
Hugs, Sammy
Oh, they sure are, thanks Sammy!! Best of all, I don’t get in trouble for eating them!
Love, Samantha
