The theme for this week’s #52Snapshots of Life photo challenge is “Neighbor“. I had a couple of ideas for this one, but decided to share a photo I took in the late summer of our neighbor’s flower gardens. One thing I loved about walking this summer, was going by our immediate neighbor’s beautiful gardens. This photo does not do them justice, but I love the rural feel of the shot with the mailbox and the road winding alongside.
At times when we walk by she will be out there working and I always express my admiration. She points out that it is her only hobby, since they don’t have dogs right now. She and her husband love dogs and enjoy seeing and petting Sheba and Cricket when we walk by (they are also very understanding about Luke’s issues, though I know they would love to be able to pet him too!).
Here is Sheba enjoying her walk on the same day I took the first photo. Our walks these days aren’t quite so colorful….we are waiting for some snow to make this drab time of year more pretty! Sheba is getting just some short walks these days as her incision continues to heal, but if our weather stays as dry as it has been we’ll soon be able to have longer walks before the snow narrows the road making it more difficult to walk safely.
***PS….Please be sure to come back tomorrow for a very special holiday giveaway!!***
Thank you to the The Lazy Pit Bull for hosting the #52Snapshots of Life photo challenge. Are you joining in the fun? Photos can be shared via blog or social media, just use the hashtags #52Snapshots and #PBSG. Only a few weeks left! You can also visit other participants through the links below.
I can see the pretty flowers. I don’t want any snow.
You sure have a pretty place to walk. Snow? What is snow. Not sure we will see any anytime soon.
We loved the picture, its nice that you share your dogs with them in return for enjoying their flowers. Keeping paws crossed for Sheba. Love Dolly
There’s always been something about the neighbors in that house. The original owners were an elderly couple that helped us out with our dogs a lot. They had their own dog when they first moved in, but after she passed they didn’t get another. So helping us with our dogs made them so happy!
Lovely garden! TW used to get all kinds of compliments on the garden in the old house.
I’m glad your Cat Claws box arrived. I love those nip peppermint sticks!
Sam is not always big on toys, but she LOVES that peppermint stick!
I have gardens too, but don’t spend as much time in them, so they don’t look nearly as lovely as my neighbors. 🙂
That’s a very pretty picture. Your neighbor has a lovely garden.
I’m going to miss her garden if we end up moving! The house we want to buy has some nice gardens though, and hopefully I’ll find the time to keep them up. 🙂
Such beautiful things we see on walks!!
Wow! Your neighbor’s yard is lovely! I hope we can have a garden some day!
Gardens can be a lot of work, but they can also be very therapeutic….getting back to nature and all. 🙂
Hope you get to enjoy that one day too!
That’s such a serene scene, I can understand why you enjoy walking by it. You’re lucky to have such a nice neighbor! Sheba looks beautiful in the photo (as she always does) and I’m glad to hear her incision is healing well.
UGH! I know, everything looks so BLAH right now! We need some snow!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
It’s so nice to see flowers again–even if they are only in pictures. Our walks have been pretty colorless lately, too. Just lots of brown and grey. We can’t complain, though, because we’re still getting nice long walks with decent temperatures, so we’ll accept the lack of color. Glad Sheba’s able to get out for at least short little walks.
How great that your neighbors make your whole world look pretty.
Our yard looks like…well, let’s just say sun-burned grass mixed with dirt and leaves. But Shadow and Ducky don’t care, so as long as their poop isn’t hidden by the leaves at clean-up time, I don’t either. It’s great having nice neighbors isn’t it?!
I love gardening, but I have really slacked up on my flower beds. Hopefully, this spring will be different. LOL! I am so glad that I read your post today. I wrote my “Neighbor” post yesterday and forgot to link up. I hurried to add it. Thanks ♥
I often forget to link up, especially if I do my post before Friday. Glad I could remind you!
I enjoy gardening too, but my flower gardens have also kind of gotten away from me…every spring I vow to do better!
This has been the toughest word of the challenge for us, but we finally came up with something to post in a few days. Good choice for you and nice they can pet your dogs for their dog fix.
It’s great that you have such good neighbors who like dogs. Our neighbors are nice too… eggs-cept Mrs. Drama :o) but we try to meet her not so often, so I think it will work :o)
